The Chevrolet Grand Sport was introduced in 1996 to commemorate the end of the C4 design. The name 'Grand Sport' was a tribute to the Grand Sport of 1963. Production was limited to only a thousand and all were given distinctive identification numbers. Of the 1000 produced 810 were coupes and 190 were convertibles.
Under the bonnet was a LT4 engine which produced a respectable 330 horsepower and 340 foot-pounds of torque. There was an Grand Sport emblem on the engine's throttle body. There was only one color offered and that was Admiral Blue with a white center stripe. Black five spoke wheels could be found at all four corners
