1997 Gigliato Aerosa news, pictures, and information

Gigliato Design Company was created by Japanese designer Nobuo Nakamura. Gigliato Design, in collaboration with Lamborghini, teamed up to build an exotic car. The result was the Aerosa, first shown to the public at the 1997 Geneva Auto Show. Plans for creation began in 1995 with an agreement being signed that stated Lamborghini would engineer, develop, and built the automobile. The Gigliato Design Company was instrumental in the design and would later act as the primary importer of the Aerosa into Japan.

In a perfect world, orders were to be taken beginning in 1998 with delivery starting in 1999. At a price of around $65,000, this exotic sports car was relatively affordable. The engine was pure Detroit taken from the Ford Mustang. The 4.8-liter Ford V8 was expected to carry the vehicle to sixty mph in less than five seconds. This would have put it on par with Ferrari and Porsche, at least some of the models such as the 355.

The Gigliato Design Aerosa remains just a prototype.
