2001 Ultima Can-Am news, pictures, and information

Última is the ÚK's leading self-assembly supercar manufacturer and, for the first time ever, its sensational Can-Am is available in component form to enthusiasts in the Únited States. Supplied straight from the factory in the ÚK, customers will benefit from technical support during their supercar build project.

Taking its inspiration from the awesome mid-engined racers that competed in the American Can-Am series during the Sixties and Seventies, the Última Can-Am represents a modern interpretation of these amazing machines. However, substantially increased levels of interior comfort and finish make our car ideal for not only the race track, but also the road.

At the heart of every new Can-Am is the company's race-proven spaceframe chassis which, allied to purpose-built independent suspension and bespoke parts throughout, offers a level of handling and road-holding way beyond any conventional road car.

Power is provided by a mid-mounted Chevrolet V8 engine mated to a five or six-speed Porsche transaxle. In standard tune it's enough to propel the Can-Am from 0 - 60mph in 4 seconds before posting a top speed which is best described as more than adequate!

In the end, the same principles that played out in that first race would come into play many years later when the island hosted the 1961 Targa F...[Read more...]
