For 1974, the Volkswagen Beetle was available as a 2-door sedan, 2-door Super sedan, and a convertible sedan. Pricing ranged from $2,630 to $3,475. New this year were energy-absorbing bumpers and seatbelt-ignition interlock system. Inside the car, the headrests became smaller.Powering the Beetle was a horizontally opposed, overhead-valve, air-cooled, four-cylinder engine delivering nearly 50 horsepower. 1974 was the final year for the 'Super Beetle.'
