1958 Mercury Voyager

Most of the 1958 Mercury automobiles had a 122-inch wheelbase chassis, only the Park Lane was different, at 125 inches. The station wagons had a length of 214.2 inches, the Park Lane at 220.2 inches, and all the others at 213.2 inches. The Station Wagons were based on the Montclair and body styles included the two- and four-door Commuter, the four-door Colony Park, and the two- and four-door Voyager. The Colony Park was the top-of-the-line model with simulated wood trim. The Voyager was the mid-priced wagon with a rear vent window like the Conoly Park, but sans wood trim. The Commuter was the entry-level wagon but without a rear vent window.

The prices of the 1957 Staton Wagons ranged from $2,900 to $3,400, with prices increasing in 1958, ranging from $3,035 to $3,640.

The Commuter was powered by the engine used in the Monterey and the Voyager and Colony Park used the Montclair engine. Both were 383 CID V8s with overhead valves, a cast-iron block, and five main bearings. The Monterey engine delivered 312 horsepower and the Montclair engine had 330 horsepower. A three-speed manual transmission was standard, and overdrive and Merc-O-Matic automatic were optional. A 430 CID V8 with three two-barrel carburetors and 400 horsepower was optional.

The six-passenger, two-door Commuter had a base price of $3,035 and 1,912 examples were built. 568 examples of the two-door voyager ($3,535) and 2,520 of the four-door Voyager ($3,635) were built. 8,601 examples of the six-passenger four-door Commuter were built, priced at $3,100, and 4,227 of the nine-passenger version, priced at $3,200.

A power retracting rear window was a $32.30 option.
