The 1997 Chrysler Pronto is a benchmark achievement in automotive prophecy. Though it's like Java in that it displaces minimal space outside, it somehow manages loads of room inside. The body design was modern, with just a few retro cues, such as the tail grille opening and split front bumpers that echoed the Prowler. The high roof allowed a more upright seating position, giving the driver the same command-of-the-road seating position found in SUVs, minivans, and later in the PT Cruiser.
