2004 Audi A6

The Audi A6 was available with several engine options along with either Front or all-wheel-drive. With the company's Quattro all-wheel-drive system, it offered tremendous traction advantage over its closest rivals, including Mercedes and BMW. The A6 3.0 was powered by the company's latest V6 engine which offered responsive performance and a smooth ride. For those seeking more, the RS 6 came equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 which delivered 450 horsepower. Zero-to-sixty was achieved in less than 4.6 seconds. The versatility of the vehicle was advanced even further with a 2.7 T and 4.2 engine option.

The Quattro all-wheel drive system came standard on all models except for the A6 3.0 CVT FronTrak. All bodystyles were sedans with the exception of the A6 3.0 Avant wagon.

The base model was the A6 3.0 which sold for $35,700. It came standard with a 220 horsepower V6 engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) transmission and equipped with front-wheel drive. Other standard features included traction control, anti-lock braking, electronic rear brake pressure regulation, an electronic differential lock (EDL), and automatic climate control with filter. For an additional $2,000, the car could be equipped with the company's Quattro all-wheel drive system and a five-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic.

The A6 3.0 Avant was the station wagon version and sold for $36,650. It had the 3-liter V6 backed by a Tiptronic automatic transmission and given Quattro all-wheel drive.

The A6 2.7 T sold for $40,850. The turbocharged V6 engine offered 250 horsepower. This was the only A6 that came with a manual transmission (a 6-speed unit). However, it could be optionally equipped with a five-speed automatic for no additional cost.

The top-of-the-line RS6 sold for around $85,000. Along with exceptional performance, it was equally matched in terms of luxury and comfort. The 450 horsepower offered 415 foot-pounds of torque and was kept in the driver's control with bigger brakes and a sport suspension.
