There is little wonder why the Italian Press considered the Ferrari F2001 a Goddess.
With an arsenal of new equipment that outclassed all rivals, the beautiful body dominated the 2001 season even more than the previous year. Ferrari secured both titles at the Hungarorin.
Defending the win of the world championship in 2000, Michael Schumacher and Ferrari made strong defenses to build a rival to its predecessor.
Its banana bent nose scone was the differentiation from the other models in 2001. The height of the front wing was updated as well as the stability of the roll bar.
With a weight of 1322.8lbs (600 kilo) and a V10 engine, only 11 were produced, and aided Schumacher in winning 9 out of 17 races in 2001 as he clinched his 4th title.
The F2001 was equipped with a mounted 3000 Ferrari Tipo 050 V10 engine and a electro-hydraulic 7-speed gearbox in welded titanium.
Becoming the most successful F1 driver in the history of racing, Schumacher won a total of 53 wins with the Ferrari F2001 earning the title of the top machine in F1 history.By Jessica Donaldson

| Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: Race | |
![]() | A dramatic Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Circuit this evening saw Michael Schumacher finish just outside the points in 11th place whilst Nico Rosberg retired following a collision. • An incident on lap one which damaged his front wing caused Nico to box for a new nose dropping him to P21 • He subsequently retired on lap eight after a heavy collision with the HRT of Narain Karthikeyan • Michael was going well on a one-stop prime/option strategy and was running in eighth place by la...[Read more...] |

![]() | Lotus showed strong pace once again during the team's home race at Silverstone, but difficulties on Saturday ultimately kept them off the podium. While the sun came out on Sunday, Friday and Saturday's running was wet and slippery. During qualifying, Romain Grosjean set the fifth fastest Q2 time but then beached his Lotus E20 in the gravel, meaning he was unable to compete in Q3. He started the grand prix ninth, benefiting from Nico Hulkenberg's five place gearbox-change penalty. Kimi was abl...[Read more...] |
| Monaco GP – A challenge for seventy years | |
![]() | At the previous round of the championship in Barcelona, where Fernando Alonso produced yet another fantastic drive in his Ferrari F2012 to take second place, the majority of teams had introduced new packages to coincide with the first European race of the season. If some elements had failed to deliver a clear picture of their benefits, there was usually talk of waiting to see how they would perform in Canada. Had the designers and engineers forgotten that, before going to Montreal, the F1 circus...[Read more...] |

![]() | It all began exactly on this day, the 21st May. Sixty two years ago, on this very same circuit that wends its way through the Principality of Monaco and which this coming Sunday, hosts the sixth round of the 2012 World Championship, Scuderia Ferrari made its debut in the Formula 1 World Championship. There were four Ferraris entered in the race: two 125 F1s, in the GP49 evolution, entrusted to the Italians Alberto Ascari and Luigi Villoresi and two 125 F1s for France's Raymond Sommer and the Bri...[Read more...] |
| Another Race, Another Winner, Another Packed Day In The Paddock | |
![]() | Pretty much the whole of F1 agreed that Maldonado's pole and win was a fitting tribute to his team owner Sir Frank Williams who is 70 this week. However, a fire in the team garage as the Paddock packed down took away some of the shine from their deserved celebrations. As well as a great drive by Maldonado, who battled to keep Alonso off his rear wing all afternoon, this again played out as a great racing spectacle: including Michael Schumacher colliding with Bruno Senna right in the path of ...[Read more...] |
