Introduced in 1999, the fourth-generation 3 Series continues to be BMW's best-selling model worldwide. Following its predecessors and introduced as a four-door, the latest 3 Series was subsequently produced in coupe, convertible and touring versions. It also provided a find foundation for the most successful of all M3 models offered to-date.

The 3 Series continues to represent BMW's philosophy of performance with a conscience. Integrated into the design and development of all BMW automobiles are such criteria as resource efficiency and emission control in production; environmentally responsible selection of materials; recyclability during production and within the vehicle and elimination of CFCs.

This fourth generation of 3 Series cars has successfully continued BMW's focus on performance, safety and style.
