Toyota Joins in 2005 Inaugural Festivities - Donates Special 'Presidential Edition' Texas Tundra
In celebration of the second inauguration of President George W. Bush, Toyota will participate in a series of official and state society events throughout the week of the 55th Presidential Inaugural.
Honoring some of the states where Toyota vehicles are built, the company will support the Kentucky, Indiana and Texas state societies' balls, plus an official Presidential Inaugural Committee Candlelight Dinner and the Texas Salute to President Bush Honoring Texas Governor Rick Perry. Toyota builds its popular Camry, Solara and Avalon models in Kentucky and the Tundra, Sequoia and Sienna models in Indiana. The Tundra full-size pickup truck will also be produced at a new $800 million San Antonio, Texas manufacturing plant which will open in 2006.
Toyota and its regional distributor, Gulf States Toyota, will provide a one-of-a-kind Special Presidential Texas Edition Tundra Double Cab with Lucchese leather as a door prize at the Texas State Society's Black Tie & Boots gala, where more than 10,000 guests are expected. This unique salsa red pearl pickup truck will feature sandstone brown leather with ostrich leather accents, custom embossed seats with a 'W' emblem in honor of the president, Lucchese embossed headrests and special Texas edition exterior badging. The truck comes equipped with 20-inch chrome wheels, brushed stainless steel running boards, custom floor mats and a stainless steel exhaust tip.
In addition, Toyota has asked famous bootmaker T.O. Stanley to design and produce a pair of custom-made boots for the Texas Backstage Ball, to be raffled off to a lucky partygoer.
