1996 Suzuki X-90 news, pictures, and information

The Suzuki X-90 was initially a concept car that was later put into production in 1996 and remained until 1998. The concept was well received, but on the showroom floors, sales were slow. A total of 7,205 X-90s were sent to the US over its production lifespan. Most were sold during the first year, and 2,087 sales the following year. By 1998, Suzuki was only able to find 477 interested buyers.

It shared many similarities to the Suzuki Sidekick, but with rounded styling, two doors, a T-section removable roof, and seating accomodations for two. It was available in either rear wheel or four-wheel drive. Mounted under the bonnet was a four-cylinder enigne with 16-valves that displaced 1.6 liters and produced just under 100 horsepower, at 95. Anti-lock brakes and dual air bags were standard and enhanced the vehicles safety. A five-speed manual was standard with an automatic offered for an additional cost. Other popular options were air conditioning and the dealer-installed six-disk CD changer.
