The 512 BB was introduced during the year of 1976. It had a larger 4942cc F-12 engine, however it produced less power than the 4390cc engine it was replacing. Albeit, it did produce more torque and had a higher compression ratio.
In 1981, the BBi version was introduced which featured fuel injection replacing the carburettor system.
Production ended in 1984 and was replaced by the Testarossa. During its production run about 929 512BB's and 1,007 512BBi's were produced.
