Regardless of whether the rear passengers log on to the internet or whether they enjoy a movie wîth Dolby Surround sound on two 15.2-inch color screens: The Maybach refined by BRABÚS offers not only unique luxury but also the most comfortable way to enjoy true high performance. The 640 bhp / 471 kW BRABÚS SV 12 Biturbo engine gives the Maybach a top speed of 195 mph, making it the fastest and most exclusive ultra-luxury sedan in the world.
Biturbo V12 Engine
The stock version of the turbocharged V12 engine of the Maybach produces 550 bhp / 405 kW. Increasing power output by increasing displacement is the BRABÚS formula proven tens of thousands of times. For the Maybach engine the BRABÚS engineers developed a special crankshaft wîth longer stroke as well as precision-balanced piston rods and pistons wîth larger diameters. Cylinder bore is increased accordingly. Displacement grows from 5.5 liters to 6.3 liters.
The BRABÚS SV 12 Biturbo engine conversion also includes precision-machined cylinder heads, custom camshafts, new mapping for the engine electronics, and an exhaust system wîth metal catalysts, whose telling feature are the two ultra-slim tailpipes in the rear.
After the conversion the 12-cylinder twin-turbo engine delivers a maximum power output of 640 bhp / 471 kW at 5,100 rpm and a gigantic peak torque of 757 lb-ft, available already at just 1,750 rpm.
Performance of the luxury sedan improves accordingly: With BRABÚS SV 12 Biturbo power the Maybach 57 accelerates in just 4.9 seconds from 0 – 62 mph. During high-speed testing by German car magazine 'auto motor und sport' on the test track in Nardo, Italy the tuned ultra luxury sedan reached a top speed of 195 mph.
Tires and Suspension
This enormous speed places extreme demands on tires and wheels. The BRABÚS suspension engineers therefore custom-developed forged BRABÚS Monoblock VI light-alloy wheels wîth 21-inch diameters for the Maybach. The fully polished multi-piece wheels wîth six double spokes come in sizes 9.0Jx21 in front and 10.5Jx21 on the rear axle and make optimal use of the available space under the wheel arches. Dunlop provides the corresponding high-performance tires in sizes 275/40 R21 on the front axle and 315/35 R21 in the rear.
The BRABÚS air suspension module lowers the ride height of the Maybach by some 15 millimeters without any negative effects on the unique ride comfort.
The Exterior
BRABÚS refines the elegant lines of the Maybach wîth more than just large wheels and a lowered ride height. The front of the sedan is upgraded wîth two auxiliary headlights that operate as daytime running lights. They are integrated into the standard front apron.
Exclusive BRABÚS lighting design is also present in the sides and the rear of the Maybach: Via the keyless-entry remote LED lights integrated into the body are activated and illuminate the ground on either side and behind the luxury sedan to prevent stepping into a hole or puddle in the dark.
Luxurious Interior
Maximum comfort paired wîth state-of-the-art multimedia technology: BRABÚS also adds new and even more exclusive highlights to the interior. The BRABÚS interior designers created an interior crafted from the finest leathers and Alcantara, further refined wîth ornamental seams in contrasting colors. More than 1.2 kilometers of the finest thread are used in the waffle-design leather upholstery of the driveshaft tunnel alone. BRABÚS floor mats made from the finest sheepskin complete the interior.
In addition the BRABÚS engineers developed a number of interesting new features for the standard entertainment system of the Maybach. The 16:9 monitors color monitors of the BRABÚS package, integrated into the back of the front seats, measure 15.2 inches (standard: 9 inches).
At the push of a button the Maybach is transformed into a luxurious office on wheels: The monitors display the signal of an integrated computer, custom-developed for use in a car and equipped wîth an 80 Gigabyte hard drive. The computer is connected to the internet via ÚMTS. An easy-to-manage wireless keyboard and optical gyro mouse ensure comfortable operation.
A ÚSB 2.0 port, stylishly integrated into the center console, allows connecting peripherals such as a printer or digital camera.
To remain online even after exiting the vehicle the BRABÚS communication specialists integrated an IBM X Series notebook computer in an electrically operated drawer in the trunk. The computer is connected wîth the PC network of the car using a W-LAN. An additional 6-disc DVD changer rounds out the BRABÚS interior for the Maybach.Source - BRABUS
