1939 Pontiac 6EA Quality Six news, pictures, and information
During the 1930's and 1940's, most manufacturers subcontracted construction of their station-wagon bodies. This 1939 Pontiac has mahogany body panels framed in white ash built by Hercules Co. An alternate choice, a body with birch panels also framed in white ash, was built by Ionia Manufacturing. Genuine wood was attractive but it required frequent maintenance. Pontiac produced its last true 'Woody' in 1949.
