1971 March 719

It is believed that ten total March Formula Fords were built in 1970, including 8 Model 708s for the European market and two 709s for North America. Seven examples were built in 1971, including two that were updated from the previous year's cars. This brought the cumulative Formula Ford's built to date to 15. Approximately seven examples were built by Wayne Mitchell in SoCal, bringing the total to 22.

Formula Ford of the 1960s was a single-seat, open-wheeled, inexpensive racing formula designed for amateur racers to gain experience before moving on to various other racing series. They used steel space frame chassis, were devoid of wings or aerodynamic downforce technology, and Ford pushrod engines.
