1986 BMW 635CSi

Powering the 1986 BMW 635CSi Coupe was the same engine found in the 735i, L7, and 535i. It was an overhead-cam six-cylinder engine that had a light alloy head and a 209 cubic-inch displacement. Power was rated at 180 hp. New this year was a power front seat with an electronic memory. Another update was to the rear window which received a new sun shade. A five-speed gearbox with was standard with a four-speed automatic available as optional equipment. The automatic, as with the other BMWs this year, was given a selectable-shift control feature. Disc brakes were at all four corners and the steering was a power recirculating ball setup.
