1938 Ford Model 82A

For 1938, Ford offered a Standard and Deluxe Eight cylinder car. The Model 81A was powered by a V8 engine that displaced 221 cubic-inches and produced 85 horsepower. The Model 82A Standard versions had a V8 engine that measured 136 cubic-inches and produced 60 horsepower. The styling was attractive with horizontal bars on the grille and a curved hood that came to a gentle point. Pricing was excellent, ranging from $625 through the mid $800s. A three-speed manual sliding gear transmission was standard and featured a single dry plate clutch.
