This premium transmission provides increased refinement and better fuel economy than the typical four- or five-speed automatic. The transmission is also currently used on Jaguar's flagship XJ sedan - providing an example of the synergies between Ford Motor Company br ands.
The engine features variable-valve timing and computer-controlled charge motion control valves for torque across the rev range and maximum horsepower wîth premium gas. Sound-damping actions, customized for the Navigator wîth the aid of computer analysis, help to make this refined engine even quieter in operation.
