DETROIT, (Apr. 9, 2015) – Brembo continues its initiative of developing and providing brake facts for each of the 20 races on the Formula One calendar. This weekend Formula One heads to China and the Formula 1 UBS Chinese Grand Prix.

The Shanghai Circuit is considered a light braking 16-turn circuit, Turn 14 at the end of the straight stretch, is the one that subjects the drivers and cars to a violent deceleration of more than 4Gs. The circuit is not very critical for brakes on the whole since the cars are normally quite aerodynamically charged. In fact, aerodynamic resistance contributes to the deceleration of the single-seaters, helping the braking action. However, the remaining braking sections are relatively light and free of any particular difficulties for braking systems.

All teams equipped with Brembo will use the improved CER 300 disc material, while Brembo continues its research in this field to produce composite materials that continue to offer more performance and controllability. Teams will also use the new ventilated CCR 700 brake pads. During the season, Brembo supplies on average 10 sets of calipers, 140-240 discs and 280-480 brake pads to each two-car teams.

Brembo has developed a dedicated Formula One site within the official Brembo website. In addition to technical data relative to the braking points of each circuit, this dedicated section also offers race fans countless other fascinating facts about the braking systems created for Formula One race cars. www.formula1.brembo.com.

The 2015 season marks the 40th Anniversary of Brembo's first entry into motorsports. Brembo supplied its first racing brake system to Ferrari in 1975 in the Formula One World Championship. Since then, the Italian company has invested heavily in research and development of highly innovative and technological products.
