599 GTB Fiorano Handling GTE Package and 599XXThe 79th Geneva International Motor Show provides the venue for Ferrari to announce two new pieces of good news: the arrival of the sporty, dynamic Handling GT Evoluzione (HGTE) Package for the 599 GTB Fiorano and the world debut of the 599XX which is a technological laboratory aimed at a select group of clients. The latter new car incorporates the most advanced technologies resulting from Ferrari's road-going and F1 research. Many of the technological solutions it carries are being used for the first time and have been developed exclusively for this special car.
The two new arrivals will be introduced to the international media by Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo on the opening day of the Show, March 3rd, at 10 am.
In addition to the 599 GTB Fiorano equipped with the Handling GTE package and finished in a new three-layer metallic Rosso, and the 599XX in a colour matching the F2008, Ferrari clients and enthusiasts will also be able to admire this single-seater that recently won the Prancing Horse its 16th Constructors' World title. On the stand there will also be the full range of Ferrari road cars: the Scuderia Spider 16M in a Grigio Titanio livery, the 430 Scuderia in Rosso Corsa and two Grand Tourer models, the Ferrari California in Nero Metallizzato with a Sabbia interior and the flagship 612 Scaglietti. The latter will be displayed in the Atelier, a dedicated area where owners can get a taste of the virtually endless personalisation options on offer to them.
Cruze Marks the Beginning of a new Era for HoldenThe all-new Holden Cruze made its Australian debut at the Melbourne International Motor Show today signalling the company's latest entrant in the competitive small car segment.
Cruze is the first of General Motors' new wave of global products and enters Australia's small car segment equipped with striking road presence, advanced interior comfort and high levels of safety features.
Powered by a 1.8 litre 4-cylinder ECOTEC petrol engine or optional 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged common rail diesel engine, Cruze will go on sale in the second quarter of 2009.
The images, which show a right-hand-drive version of Volt sporting Holden badges on its aerodynamic front and rear, were released as part of Holden's presentation at the Melbourne International Motor Show.
It is a local take on the vehicle that has won widespread acclaim for its ability to travel up to 64 kilometres on electricity before using petrol or producing exhaust pipe emissions.
GM Holden Chairman and Managing Director Mark Reuss said the company had been overwhelmed by public interest in Volt since announcing it would launch in Australia in 2012.
'We think Volt has the potential to change the game in Australian motoring,' Mr Reuss said.
'Since we announced our plans to introduce Volt to Australia, we have been overwhelmed by public interest in the car and the technology that makes it work.
Oldsmobile Autocrat Racer for sale at Amelia Island AuctionThis 1911 Oldsmobile Autocrat Racing Car is scheduled to cross the block at RM Auctions 'Automobiles of Amelia Island' auction. It is an amazing automobile that has an estimated value of $700,000-$1,000,000!
The Oldsmobile Company was founded in 1897 by R.E. Olds in Lansing, Michigan. In 1904, Olds sold his interest to his stockholders and in 1908, Oldsmobile became part of General Motors. Oldsmobile was the flagship luxury car of General Motors and the Autocrat and Limited models were among the biggest and most powerful luxury cars of the period.
This car was purchased new in 1911 by John Greenway Albert of Baltimore, Maryland. Soon after the purchase, he designed a special race car body and had it constructed by a local Baltimore coachbuilder. Mr. Albert called his new vehicle 'The Yellow Peril' and often removed the fenders and headlamps from the car and raced it on local dirt and board tracks. Mr. Albert once raced and beat the legendary race car driver Barney Oldfield with his Yellow Peril.
The Rolls Royce Silver GhostThe Rolls-Royce vehicles have always been the pinnacle of design, technology, and ambiance. The loudest noise that could be heard by occupants of their vehicles was said to be the clock. In 1904 engineer Frederick Henry Royce joined with the entrepreneur and businessman, the Honorable Charles Stewart Rolls. This union became known as the Rolls-Royce Company.
The Silver Ghost became available in 1906 and brought with it quality and technology to a level that had never been seen before on a motor vehicle. Most engines of the time had long and flexible crankshafts that were prone to vibration and noise. The Rolls-Royce engines had large bearings and pressurized oiling systems, secured by seven main bearings. This was then enclosed in a strong aluminum alloy crankcase eliminating much noise and creating a pleasurable driving experience for the occupants of the vehicle. The crankshaft had an accuracy of .00025 on its bearing surface. They were hand polished to remove any surface cracks left by the grinder. Instead of using noisy chains to drive the ignition, Royce used gears. Phosphor bronze and nickel steel were used in the construction of the timing gears which were then ground and polished by hand. The engine was further shortened by casting in triplets. Cooling problems and leaks were eliminated by the removable cylinder blocks and fixed heads. A Royce designed twin jet carburetor gave the engine all the breathing it required.
The Toyota Celica GTUToyota's first foray in the United States motorsports resulted in a brief but successful effort with Carroll Shelby and the 2000 GT in SCCA's C-Production class in the late 1960's. But their first real attempt at professional road racing resides right here in this Celica.
The project began in Japan with two cars built for FIA GT racing by Toyota Racing Development. They were subsequently shipped to Toyota Motor Sales in the United States and the plan was hatched to go GT racing in the professional ranks with a partially funded team.
The cars used a racing version of Toyota's twin-cam 4-cylinder engine known as the 3R-G. Using mechanical fuel injection, the little four-banger cranked out 290+ horsepower.
The rules required that the cars maintain the original structure and layout and TRD made good use of the basic Celica platform to create a light and sturdy body/chassis.

IDEA ERA ConceptThe I.D.E.A. Institute created a concept in 30 days last May in celebration of their 30th Anniversary. It was a stunning design that showcased the Turin based firms ability as engineering and design consultants. Next month, at the Geneva Motor Show, I.D.E.A. will present the next version of the roadster dubbed the I.D.E.A. ERA Concept.
The gorgeous roadster has exotic gull-wing doors, an open-top, two-tier trunk, and a tubular-frame chassis.
Lancia Aurelia B20GTThe first new car to appear from Lancia after World War Two was the Aurelia. it replaced the Aprilia, a design from 1936 developed under the direction of company founder Vincenzo Lancia, in 1950. In good Lancia tradition it not only had original looks but also featured innovative engineering.
Underneath its attractive body the B20 GT had the regular Aurelia V-6 and transaxle setup. To enhance the performance of the car the engine was enlarged to 1991 cc and tuned to produce 75 horsepower @ 4500 RPM.
Ghia stylist Mario Felice Boano was responsible for the design of the Aurelia B20 Gran Turismo coupe. It was a very modern slab-sided and streamlined style following the latest fashion of that time. The execution of this design, however, was uniquely pure and functional with hardly any items that could spoil its lines.
Despite being a rather sizable car, the body of the B20 GT looked well balanced and appeared more nimble than it actually was. It also was elegant and immediately pleased the eye. These features made this design a definition of what a GT car should look like, and characteristics of this design still echo in modern front-engine sports car styling today.
Lancia Aurelia Nardi Blue Ray 1Blue Ray 1, completed in September 1955, is perhaps the most fantastic creation of Enrico Nardi. It was first shown at the Turin Auto Show and subsequently shown at the Paris and New York Auto Shows. Power is provided by a Lancia Aurelia B20 V6 engine with Nardi tuning updates. The coachwork was designed by Michelotti and constructed by Vignale. All of the coachwork, with the exception of the roof frame but including the floors and inner fenders, is alloy. The roof is made of blue Perspex and is equipped with a grilled air scoop and internal directional vents. Blue Ray 1 was restored in 1989 and first appeared at Pebble Beach that year.
The Model T of the 21st century : 2003 Ford Model U ConceptInspired by how the Model T revolutionized personal transportation in the last century, a team of Ford researchers and designers created Model U. 'When Henry Ford built the Model T, it was affordable, offered the most advanced manufacturing, and was built with the most advanced materials,' says Dr. Gerhard Schmidt, Ford Motor Company vice president of Research and Advanced Engineering. 'In a similar but entirely contemporary way, Model U starts a new cycle. Emissions, safety, and fuel economy, also green materials and processes, are all key questions facing the entire industry. We believe the Model U addresses them all.'
The refreshed 2010 Volvo S80The refreshed Volvo S80 is the result of an intensive dialogue between Volvo Cars' project group and the discerning customers in the premium sedan segment. 'We are ready to give the competition a tough match. With the new S80, we're placing the bar at the very highest level when it comes to exclusiveness, quality and driving properties,' says Volvo Cars President and CEO Stephen Odell.
The refreshed Volvo S80 is being unveiled for the very first time at the Geneva Motor Show in early March and sales will start in spring 2009.
Building on great success in key markets such as Russia, Volvo Cars' large sedan model takes centre stage with far greater self-assurance than ever, the result of a more distinctive and elegant design, a more exclusive interior and a sharper chassis and upgraded engine range.
Rinspeed E2What is this? It is round, small and cuddly, has eyes to fall in love with, a sexy behind - and on demand 60 or 160 hp as necessary. It is Rinspeed's answer to the fast changing requirements of the market and sociopolitical perception about the tuning industry.' Rinspeed boss Frank M. Rinderknecht hits the nail on the head: 'Just like the auto industry has to adjust to the demands of a new era, tuners have to look for new ways to do business as well.' The Swiss automobile visionary Rinderknecht, who has his roots in the tuning business, observes a change in people's attitude, at least in the western world: 'We need an intelligent use of our fossil resources, especially of our energy'.
Rinspeed's creation is based on the Abarth version of the Fiat 500. Its name ‘E2' signals the fact that the nimble little Italian car is equipped with two different power levels: The 60-hp ‘Commuting' level is more than sufficient to move along with city traffic while saving energy. In this mode the ‘E2' consumes just some four liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. Outside the city, the ‘Highway' mode provides driving fun and added power for fast and safe passing. In ‘Highway' mode the engine produces 160 lively horsepower and transforms the Italian flea into a venerable hornet. Fuel consumption in ‘Highway' mode is in the neighborhood of seven liters per 100 kilometers. The energy management system of the ‘E2' is controlled by a small button in the cockpit that affects the engine electronics.
The fastest, most powerful Bentley everThe Continental Supersports is the fastest and most powerful Bentley ever. It is the extreme Bentley, a muscular two-seater that delivers supercar performance and a highly focused driving experience.
The Supersports is also the first Bentley capable of running on both petrol (gasoline) and biofuel, pioneering the use of FlexFuel technology in the luxury sector. This represents stage one of the company's commitment to make its complete model range compatible with renewable fuels by 2012.
Available worldwide from autumn 2009, the Continental Supersports will be FlexFuel compatible in the majority of markets from launch with North American cars offering the capability by summer 2010, following regulatory approval.
The Continental Supersports began as an ‘under the radar' project exploring the possibilities of weight reduction on the Continental GT but with more power and torque. A largely experimental process crystallised over a period of 24 months into an official new car programme, driven by the passion and enthusiasm of a small group of Bentley engineers and designers.
Aston Martin DBS Volante: Fusing Open Top Motoring With the Ultimate Luxury Sports CarAston Martin will premiere the DBS Volante at the Geneva Auto Salon on the 3rd March 2009. Completing the DBS line-up, the new Volante will afford customers the combination of the DBS's already-established benchmark sports car characteristics with all the thrills of open-air motoring.
Broadening the DBS's character, the DBS Volante will appeal to drivers who wish to combine the excitement of driving a finely-tuned sports car with the invigorating feeling of being open to the elements. This juxtaposition of ultimate performance and openness stirs the senses on any drive whether an exhilarating jaunt on favoured roads or cruising on lengthy journeys. 'Volante', meaning 'moving with light rapidity', perfectly defines the performance potential and the dynamic characteristics of the DBS Volante.
Featuring a motorised retractable fabric roof, the DBS's beautiful profile is preserved whether up or down. When the roof is closed, it provides a warm comfortable ambience and when open, it neatly disappears behind the new tonneau cover at the touch of a button.
Aston Martin's Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez said: 'The DBS Volante delivers the utmost relaxed driving experience with the hood up or down. It combines engineering excellence with design perfection.
The Hudson HornetThe Hornet was the new top of the line Hudson in 1951. Power came from a high performance 308 cubic-inch, 145 horsepower inline six-cylinder engine.
In 1948 the company launched their 'step-down' bodies, which lasted through the 1954 model year. The term step-down referred to Hudson's placement of the passenger compartment down inside the perimeter of the frame; passengers stepped down into a floor that was surrounded by the perimeter of the car's frame. In another innovative approach, the radio antenna was located on the windshield header.
Within the total production of 132,000 in 1951, not many convertible coupes were built and even fewer were fitted with the 'Twin H' race engine. Used sparingly for a number of years and with only 48,000 original miles, this car was stored in Utah until discovered in its original state. A no-holds-barred complete restoration began as the car was restored to its original factory correct color and correct interior.
Zagato Perana Z-OneThe Zagato Perana Z-One is expected to make its debut at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show. The Italian coachbuilder Zagato worked with South Africa's Perana Performance Group to build this exotic Perana Z-One. Power is from a GM LS3 V8 that displaces 6.2-liters and produces at least 440 horsepower making the Z-One capable of zero-to-sixty mph runs in less than four seconds.
Lola T70 MKIIBritish race car builder Eric Broadley was one of the first to combine light weight mid-engine chassis with American V-8 power, in the Lola GT that ran at Le Mans in 1963. In 1965 he introduced the T70, which for two years was the world's fastest racing car.
Developed by World champion driver John Surtees, with 500 HP and weighing 1750 pounds, it had blinding acceleration, 0 to 100 mph in less than six seconds with stable, predictable handling.
Surtees won the first Can-Am Championship with a T70 in 1966.
Of the forty-odd originally built, few T70 roadsters have survived, and very few with as much of the original car intact as this one.

Scuderia Achille VarziIf success lay in a name then Scuderia Achille Varzi had more than enough opportunity to become one of the powerhouse teams in Formula One, at least in the series' early years. If success truly lay in a name then Scuderia Achille Varzi would also have no excuse for failure. However, Scuderia Achille Varzi offers proof that success does not lay in a name but in the talent and hard work of talented individuals within a team.
Achille Varzi started out racing motorcycles when he was rather young and became quite successful. At the age of 19 Varzi won the 350 Italian Championship. In 1926, Achille made his four-wheel debut racing a Bugatti. In that race the Bugatti would fail Varzi and forced him to retire. This provided Varzi with just a taste of what would eventually become an illustrious four-wheel racing career despite the non-illustrious beginning.
Baldwin-Motion Corvette Moray GTThe original Baldwin Motor Performance Group (1967-1974) represented a partnership between Baldwin Automobile Company, a franchised Chevrolet dealership dating back to the early 1920s and Motor Performance, a high profile speed shop with a reputation for building fast Chevys. Both are located in Baldwin, Long Island, New York, a New York suburb.
Joel Rosen was the defining personality of Motion Performance Products. Baldwin Motor offered SS (425 hp) and Phase III (500 hp & up) big block Camaros, Novas, Chevelles, Corvettes, and Biscayne Street Racer Specials.
This 500 horsepower Corvette received 14 body changes and an interior change. It is the only Moray GT car built.
The Lamborghini JalpaAt the 1981 Geneva Auto Show the Lamborghini Silhouette replacement, the Lamborghini Jalpa, was debuted. They styling was the work of Bertone which had used the styling-cues from the Silhouette. The result was a super car that was not as angular as its predecessor but with a more modern appeal.
Like many other Lamborghini's, the name Jalpa was borrowed from a breed of fighting bulls. An eight-cylinder engine was mounted mid-ship providing 255 horsepower to the rear wheels. The vehicle was not without its problems but it was described as an easy to drive sports car with excellent handling and performance.

Maserati 450S Costin-Zagato CoupeThe Maserati 450 S was produced from 1956 through 1958 with only ten examples being produced. The purpose of the 450 S was to challenge the powerful competition such as Ferrari and Jaguar for the World Championship. The 450 S went beyond just a power engine; it featured a chassis that was lightweight, sturdy, and durable. Two engines were constructed, a 3.5 liter six-cylinder engine and a 4.5 liter quad-cam eight-cylinder in 'Vee' configuration. The six-cylinder was placed into the chassis first and prepared for the 1956 Mille Miglia. The result was disappointing. By the close of 1956, the eight-cylinder engine was completed and anxiously installed into the front of the vehicle. With continued testing and development nearly 400 horsepower was achieved, up from an initial 365. The 90-degree eight-cylinder engine with dual-overhead cams and 4-Weber 45 IDM carburetors was matted to a Colotti five-speed manual gearbox and powered the rear wheels. The brakes were further improved to handle the massive power being displaced.
FortuneSportThe FortuneSport will combine the philosophies of timeless engineers from around the world who were able to change motoring forever.
From Colin Chapman and his Lotus marque, FortuneSport derives its belief in the power of lightness. From Enzo Ferrari and the masterpieces that bear his name, FortuneSport has borrowed the conviction that a true supercar should be uncompromising. Like Ferrari, Fortune values an automotive design process that involves building street car qualities into a package that is essentially a racecar from the beginning, instead of attempting to build sportiness into a basically pedestrian car.
Combining American ambition, British simplicity, and Italian flair into one package is one of the best concoctions of globalization that anyone could have created. The specs of the Rt.S, the street legal model planned for release by FortuneSport, prove the worth of this mixture. With a 6.0L V8 producing 350bhp strapped amidships and an incredible projected curb weight of just 1800lbs, the Rt.S should have no problem meeting its estimated 0-60 time and top speed, which are 3.7 seconds and 175mph, respectively.
Equipe Simca-Gordini T15It is the battle between champion and underdog that creates real drama and a sense of worth for what it is that is being fought over. A battle between two dominant forces really makes the prize of victory all but worthless. But the very same prize of victory, when contested between contenders of varying ability immediately boosts victory's value.
Even from year one, Formula One has had its dominant forces. Those forces may change from year-to-year or by decade-by-decade, but nonetheless, there is always a couple of teams that victory is all but assured. But if we look, it's always the teams not expected to be there that gets the crowd and makes people come back. 'Perhaps this team will be able to go from back-marker to champion', we think. We look with anticipation to see who just might surprise us.
Ferrari 342 AmericaThe 342 America, a replacement for the 340, was debuted at the January 1951 Brussels show. The completed version of the 342 was shown at the Turin show during the spring of 1951. Production was from 1952 to 1953.
This version was a touring version. It did not have as much horsepower as the 340 even though it had the same engine. The transmission varied as well. The 342 had a fully-synchromesh four-speed transmission instead of the racing version which was a non-synchromesh five speed. Other variations from the 340 included a heavier rear-axle and larger track dimensions.
Unfortunately, only 6 of the 342 America's were ever produced.
Rolls-Royce 200EX ConceptThe Rolls-Royce 200EX Concept will make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show. It will be powered by an all new V-12 engine though further details are still unknown. All will be told when Rolls-Royce official unwraps their latest concept at Geneva.
200EX is a design study for a contemporary four-door saloon and shows the direction for RR4, a new model series from Rolls-Royce due for production in 2010.
Experimental models have always played a significant role in the history of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, from the first - 1EX, built in 1919 - to the most recent - 101EX, built in 2006. Unlike a concept car, the experimental models developed by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars have always been fully functioning vehicles, residing in a tangible world of wood, leather and metals rather than clay and foam. EX cars offer designers and engineers the opportunity for real-world innovation and have been used to showcase new components and engineering techniques as well as exterior and interior designs. 'Modern automotive engineering is a balance of creativity, innovation and application. 200EX is an opportunity to assess these new ideas', explains Helmut Riedl, Director of Engineering.
Georges Irat PourtoutThis car was exhibited at the 1927 Paris Automobile Salon. The body is by Pourtout and is one of two built but they were not identical.
The car was engineered by Maurice Gaultier (from Delage) with a 4-cylinder, overhead valve engine with 1988cc or 2-liters. It has a four-speed transmission, a 12-volt electrical system and four-wheel servo brakes.
This car sold new for 135,000 Francs, which was the equivalent of eighteen 7CV Citroens.
The company slogan was 'Car of the Elite.'
1956 Chrysler New YorkerThis New Yorker was ordered for New York Radio/TV personality Robert Q. Lewis in 1956. Of the 921 produced, fewer than 25 are thought to exist today.
Rare factory options included are a 'Chryslermatic' self-winding steering wheel clock and a Chrysler 16 2/3 'Highway HI-FI' record player. A 354 cubic-inch HEMI engine and pushbutton transmission powers this now rare Cloud White and Desert Rose convertible.
Known by connoisseurs as the 'glass fibre car', this superb prototype originally emerged from Jaguar's experimental department, which had incorporated its chassis in an investigational glass fibre XK-SS, thus creating the world's first moncoque sports racing car created from composites. That very composite experimental body accompanies the car today and will be included in the sale of this magnificent piece of Jaguar lore. Adorned with proper D-Type coachwork in the 1970's and built into a conventional production D-Type, this one of a kind sports car has been successfully raced with FIA papers ever since and is regarded as a significant piece of Jaguar's racing history.

Chrysler Town and CountryThe Town & Country Convertible sold for $3,400 in 1948, making it the most expensive model available. Around 8,400 buyers would select this vehicle and are highly sought after by collectors in modern times.
Prior to World War II, 'woodies' were primarily relegated to station wagon body styles. Although Chrysler waited until 1949 to introduce their first all-new postwar model, they made a real styling statement in 1946 by producing wood bodied Town and Countries in sedan and convertible body styles. These Ash and Mahogany rolling sculptures have attained iconic status.

1892 Peugeot Type 3This diminutive vehicle is one of the oldest roadworthy vehicles in the world. A Peugeot Type 3, it is the 23rd Peugeot ever made. It is totally original and was bought by its current owners directly from the French family that bought it new in 1892. It has a V-twin, two-cylinder engine, hot tube ignition, and runs on very volatile fuel provided through a bucket-like carburetor called a vaporizer. The engine runs best on Hexane, a type of dry cleaning fluid - although most pure alcohols will do! The drive is through a four-speed straight-cut open gearbox with bronze gears. With this Peugeot, the owners have completed the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run twice and also the Tour du Lac Leman in Switzerland.

Within 3 years a group of businessmen, including the Fuller and Blood Brothers, along with Dr. W.E. Upjohn, had formed the Michigan Automobile Company, LTD. The Michigan was produced until 1906 when these businessmen went on to other endeavors.
Porsche 935This is (err.....was) an extremely original car impounded by the federal government during the 1980s when the Whittington brothers, owners, were in Federal prison for drug running.
The Whittington brothers, Bill and Don, had six IMSA podium finishes in this car in 1978 and 1979. The brothers drove and won the 24 Hours of LeMans in 1979 in a sister car with Klaus Ludwig. Number 93 became an instruction car at Road Atlanta in the early 1980s, prior to the Whittingtons losing everything, including this car and the Road Atlanta Race Track they owned, due to federal drug convictions. The car remained in a federal warehouse for many years in its original raced condition.

BMW Concept 5 Series Gran TurismoWith the BMW Concept 5 Series Gran Turismo, BMW opens a new segment in the automobile market by incorporating BMW driving dynamics, quality, and style into a new type of vehicle. As was the case with the BMW X5 as the world's first Sports Activity Vehicle and the BMW 1 Series, to this day the only rear-wheel-drive premium small car, BMW is again developing a new market segment and giving additional driver groups the unique experience of The Ultimate Driving Machine.
The BMW Concept 5 Series Gran Turismo is the production-destined rendition of the Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS) development idea. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of the BMW Concept 5 Series Gran Turismo is its combination of stylish quality, luxurious comfort, and remarkable convenience.
As the name indicates, the BMW Concept 5 Series Gran Turismo is the ideal car for long journeys while still offering a dynamic driving experience in everyday traffic or short jaunts. The design of the body presents the character of a BMW dedicated to sporting performance.
Ferrari 312BThis vehicle shares the same engine, transmission and suspension with the Formula 1 car.
After its sister car was destroyed in the first race of the 1971 season, this car became Ferrari's sole entry in the remaining twelve races of the World Sportscar Championship. Driven by Jackie Ickx, Clay Regazzoni, and Mario Andretti, the 3 liter 312 PB was usually quicker than the 5-liter Porsche 917s and Ferrari 512s. However, a combination of mechanical problems and accidents kept the 312PB out of the winner's circle. Finally at the last race of the season, in South Africa, the car achieved the first 312PB victory for Ferrari. The opposition was two Porsche 917s and a second factory 312PB that was appearing for the first time. Clay Regazzoni and Brian Redman overcame a 2 lap penalty for having more than the permitted number of mechanics working on the car and finished first followed by the other 312PB, a Chevron B19, and a Porsche 917. For the following season Ferrari built six more cars to the same specifications and went on to win ten out of ten races entered and the 1972 Sportscar Championship.
2010 Acura TSX V-6Acura debuted an all-new V-6 model for its TSX sports sedan line-up at the Chicago Auto Show today. Scheduled to go on sale this summer, the 2010 TSX V-6 will be equipped with a powerful 3.5-liter engine, exclusive suspension tuning, larger diameter wheels and additional enhancements.
'The automotive market may be slowing down, but not Acura,' said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. 'With improved acceleration and handling, the new 280 horsepower V-6 adds even more sport to the already sporty nature of the popular TSX sports sedan.'
Since its redesign last year, the TSX has shattered sales records to become one of Acura's best-selling sedans. As the entry point to the Acura brand, the four-cylinder TSX has won over customers with its nimble handling, agile driving feel and balanced performance. The V-6 model adds a new level of power on top of these winning traits for a more sporty and spirited driving experience. The V-6 will surely satisfy driving enthusiast's appetite for a fun-to-drive, yet refined sports sedan.
With the introduction of a V-6 powered TSX, Acura will fill a niche in its lineup between the four-cylinder TSX and the all-new TL performance luxury sedan. With the TL moving more upscale following its redesign in the 2009 model year, the TSX V-6 will be aimed squarely at youthful buyers who want a performance-oriented sports sedan in a more personal size.
2010 Mazda 3 5-DoorThe MAZDA3 is Mazda's most gratifying success story. The first generation sold for the past five years exceeded the expectations of nearly 2-million owners around the world while earning 90 major awards from car critics and enthusiast magazine editors. America's leading consumer publication listed the MAZDA3 as one of the best vehicles costing less than $25,000. Reader surveys gave this car top scores for reliability and low operating expense, two additional reasons why it earned a 'RECOMMENDED' rating.
One out of every three Mazdas sold worldwide is a MAZDA3. In the US, its sales increased each year for the last five years. In 2008, the last year in the first generation MAZDA3 lifecycle, it singlehandedly represented 44 percent of Mazda North American Operation's sales volume.
MAZDA3 is a favorite for consumers shopping for their first new vehicle. MAZDA3 buyers are typically the youngest, both in their segment and among the greater Mazda family. By consistently exceeding ambitious wants and needs, the MAZDA3 continues to earn the loyalty of its youthful customer base. Offering two bodystyles, three trim levels, and four separate powertrain options, the new MAZDA3 is expected to spread the Zoom-Zoom spirit far and wide.

MINI Cooper S Mk II JCW ConvertibleThe British Motor Corporation came into existence in 1952 by the merging of two manufacturers, Nuffield Motors and Austin. Nuffield was known for its Morris line of vehicles, while Austin had its 'Seven' model line. The transition for the two manufacturers was difficult and had been forced out of necessity. After World War II, many vehicle manufacturers could not stay in business due to destroyed factories, recovering economies, strained resources, and lack of funds. Combining the two companies was a means to stay in business.
A fuel shortage was occurring. German engineers quickly adapted and began producing fuel-efficient vehicles. Examples include the Volkswagen Beetle. Leonard Lord, Chairman of BMC and former head of Austin, commissioned Sir Alec Issigonis to design a vehicle to compete with the German-made vehicles.
Alec Issigonis was a graduate of Battersea Technical College. After graduation he worked as a draftsman for a plethora of engineering projects. Later, he joined Morris Motors where he was tasked with creating and fitting suspensions to the Morris vehicles.
Issigonis was outfitted with requirements to create a fuel-efficient, affordable, safe vehicle capable of carrying four individuals including luggage. To save on development costs, it was requested that an existing BMC engine be used. What he created was a vehicle that sat atop of 10 inch wheels. By using smaller wheels there was little need for wheel wells.
2009 Chicago Auto ShowEveryone goes to an auto show to see what's new, but perhaps this year more than ever consumers will be looking to the shows to find out what's out on the horizon-and discover it's not far down the road until that next big thing becomes reality. There are multiple questions of which way to go. This year's show will address those questions and let everyone see what's next.
Enlisting the aid of an auto show to help improve the state of the overall economy isn't a new concept to those who remember auto show history. In 1935, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt asked the automotive industry to seek ways to even out the seasonal employment downturn. The industry responded by moving its model year to the fall and the nation's two largest auto shows moved their dates to correspond with the new model year.
'Challenging times call for innovation and creativity,' said 2009 Chicago Auto Show Chairman Mark Scarpelli. 'Our industry has shown time and time again that we have creativity by the truckload, and this year's schedule of auto shows will help us to turn the corner.
'This is a year when the auto industry and auto shows need to move in concert with one another to help create a sustained momentum with confidence so that when a customer is motivated to walk into a showroom, he's going to find the vehicles he wants at prices he can afford-and financing to assist him,' continued Scarpelli. 'Our industry needs to ramp up interest starting in Los Angeles and then hold that interest level all the way through the New York show. As the nation's most influential consumer auto show, we're prepared to do our part to help provide the spark to ignite sales, not only in Chicago and the Midwest, but nationally, as well. We think that all auto shows should adopt the same attitude.'
'There's no reason that all auto shows can't rise to the occasion for the same purpose,' said show co-Chair John Phelan. 'Our exhibiting manufacturers have told us that the Chicago show will be just as bold and appealing to the public as before. We welcome their enthusiasm and pledge to do everything we can to help maximize the effect of their beautiful displays to the public, and to the national and international media.
'The Chicago Automobile Trade Association is the nation's oldest and largest metropolitan dealer organization,' continued Phelan. 'We owe it not only to our group's members, but to dealers and manufacturers-across the country and around the globe-to give our industry its finest platform, its most flexible and accommodating stage, its most effective use of marketing dollars. Chicago is just a piece of the whole pie, but a uniquely significant one. We're eager to contribute in every way we can.'

SIDESWIPE takes the form of a sleek, vision concept dreamed up by the Corvette designers at GM. The design is influenced by the original Stingray race car, introduced in 1959, but also draws on Corvette heritage cues from other generations. It brings them together in a futuristic shape that seems to be equal parts racecar and space ship.
'SIDESWIPE represents an exercise in exploration for the Corvette,' said Ed Welburn, vice president of GM Global Design. 'By giving my creative team the freedom to design no-holds-barred vision concepts, it helps them push boundaries and look at projects from different perspectives.'

Red Bull RB5 F1Red Bull Racing's 2009 car, the RB5, made its track debut this morning at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in southern Spain. If they start giving out championship points for beauty, then the season seems to have got off to a good start as the RB5 is definitely a pretty little beast.
This morning, Sebastian Vettel nosed the new car out of the garage into the pit lane and suddenly the countdown to Melbourne seems to have picked up speed. 'It's good that we got the car running without any major problems, but it's much too early to say anything about performance,' commented Seb after completing a handful laps before lunch. 'Now we are concentrating on checking all the systems, which are very different to those on last year's car. It's good to be back in a racing car again and I feel as though we are on the way to Australia now. It was a strange feeling when I looked in my mirrors, as you don't see anything behind you, no wings or other bits: all you see is the rear tyres and it looks very naked. The view from the front is different too, because of the shape of the nose, but I'll get used to it very quickly'.

Twin-Turbocharged 2010 Ford Taurus SHOTaurus SHO is back for 2010 in a contemporary yet authentic interpretation of its Super High Output 'sleeper' heritage.
Both known and loved for its high performance and unassuming exterior, Ford Taurus SHO was launched in limited production with only a five-speed manual transmission only for the 1989 model year. Introductory advertising positioned Taurus SHO as putting 'power in the hands of a fortunate few.'
Demand for the genre-defining Taurus SHO was underestimated, as 15,519 units found homes with eager, enthusiastic owners in the initial model year. The closest performance comparison at the time was the BMW 528i, costing tens of thousands more than the SHO.
Beyond significant performance capabilities, Taurus SHO included features normally found on much more expensive cars such as ABS, Keyless Entry, a JBL audio system and sporty-yet-luxurious interior appointments.
Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst S EditionFew will claim that Vauxhall's storming VXR8 super-saloon is lacking in the power stakes, but just in case there were any doubters, the Bathurst S Edition will put them straight.
Thanks to the addition of a Walkinshaw Performance 122 Supercharger, the Bathurst S dispenses 560 V8 horsepower, compared with the standard car's 431 horsepower, and produces searing acceleration throughout the rev-range and a spine-tingling, banshee wail when you hit the loud pedal.
The Bathurst S Edition joins the normally aspirated Bathurst Edition at the top of the Vauxhall family tree, with both cars receiving a raft of technical and cosmetic upgrades over the standard VXR8. Only a limited number of Bathurst Editions will be sold through selected Vauxhall retailers.
To exploit the Bathurst's greater power potential, six-pot front and four-pot rear callipers are now standard on both models, along with stiffer, height-adjustable springs and Walkinshaw-developed coil-over dampers. The bespoke damper units have 15 separate valve settings with independent corner adjustment for the owner's preferred setup.
Dynamically, both Bathursts retain the VXR8's much praised ride quality, but body control is enhanced and the handling made more exploitable for the enthusiastic driver.

Early Attempts with Front-Wheel DriveFront wheel drive in modern production vehicles is common and the preferred method for most manufacturers. This was not always the case. For the United States, it was not until the mid-1960s that marques began using this configuration. There were a few early attempts such as with Cords and Ruxtons. Some were successful, others were not. Here is a list of some of the vehicles that had their front-end carry the bulk of the weight, handle the steering, and be responsible for most of the braking.

After being driven out in the very early 1990's by pitifully slow sales of the underappreciated Biturbo, Maserati made a return to the U.S. for 2003. It brought with it an entirely revamped product line consisting of some phenomenal cars. Fast forward to now, and Maserati had just released a beautiful new coupe, the GranTurismo. Its name may not be the most creative or interesting label for what is, after all, a grand touring car, but its message is clear: Maserati is back, and it hasn't forgotten its roots.
While many would argue that Maserati's real roots were in racing cars, the fact is that the company never achieved real success as a production car manufacturer until it turned its efforts toward producing stunning GT automobiles. The Ghibli was one of those spectacular machines.
Throughout its production run from 1967 to 1973, the Ghibli proved itself worthy of the trident badge. It was a well-engineered machine clothed in fine Italian style, and it is remembered today as one of the finest road-going Maseratis ever produced. A success for its parent company, 1,149 Ghibli coupes were produced along with 125 Spyders. The relatively high production numbers once made Ghiblis easy to pick up for reasonable prices. Collectors are catching on, though, and values are on the rise. These stunning Maseratis are sure to be remembered as one of the company's greatest achievements.
MG J3The MG J-type midget was produced by the MG Car Company from 1932 through 1934. A total of 2,494 were produced, designated J1 through J4. J3s and J4s were the racing versions, and were the only ones fitted with superchargers. Only 22 J3s and 9 J4s were produced, and they competed quite successfully. This 1933 supercharged MG J3 received the alloy body from a J4 (J4004) prior to 1950. Its racing history includes Goodwood and their Easter Meet on April 18, 1949, where it suffered an engine 'blowup' in Event #1, the Lavant Cup. This car was brought to the United States in 1963.
Pagani Zonda RThis Zonda is purpose made for track use, without restrictions of any competition rules or homologation, with the only exclusion of the passengers' integrity, where no compromise is tolerated according to our philosophy and state-of-the-art safety measures are featured.
The engine is built by the racing specialists at Mercedes AMG, where the championship winning DTM cars are born, as well as the CLK GTR, probably the most devastating and effective weapon ever to compete in the GT series. From it's engine the Zonda R borrows the basic architecture including an ingenious dry sump allowing a low centre of gravity. This self-supporting engine with 750 hp at 8000 rpm and 710 Nm of torque carries a lightweight carbon fibre high- performance intake system, a racing multiple disc sintered clutch and Formula 1 style exhaust system, hydroformed in Inconel 625 and ceramic coated for optimal heat dissipation. The power unit combined with a 6 speed transversal manual sequential synchronised gearbox is designed to satisfy the most ambitious drivers.
Regarded as Florida's premier collector car event, the annual three-day sale at the Greater Fort Lauderdale / Broward County Convention Center offered a full range of American and European collector cars, from a 1927 Austin Seven to a custom 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 built by Steve Sanderson and George Barris.
Among the over 400 classic cars offered for bids was a pair of customized 1966 Ford Mustang Convertibles built by Hollywood's legendary 'King of the Kustomizers', George Barris, who made a special appearance at the show. One of the top sellers of the weekend, the inseparable pair of Mustangs, which were customized by Barris for sixties entertainment icons Sonny and Cher, brought $198,000. Another unique Barris creation known as 'Fire Bug', originally built as a promotional vehicle for the LA Fire Department, sold for $49,500.
Italdesign AztecThe Italdesign was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, one of the world's most influential designers. It debuted at the 1988 Turin Auto Show. As with most concepts, the car was not meant to be produced but instead certain features were to be incorporated into future production vehicles. The Aztec is an exception. A Japanese concern, Compakt, liked the car so much that 255 vehicles were commissioned. The chassis and bodies were built in Italy then shipped to the German Audi tuner MTM, where a 250 horsepower Audi Quattro, 5-cylinder engine, was transversely installed behind the driver. The all-wheel-drive (AWD) system used Lancia Delta components. The body is a combination of steel, aluminum, fiberglass and carbon fiber. The pilot and co-pilot use headsets connected to an intercom to communicate with each other.
Maserati 3500 GTThe Maserati 3500 GT is a 2-door coupe made by Maserati of Italy, and was the company's first attempt at the Gran Turismo market and large-volume production.
The most successful race car for Maserati was the 250F. Introduced in 1954 and with the likes of Sir Stirling Moss at the helm, the 250F established Maserati as a force in racing. Profiting from success in racing, Maserati introduced a detuned version of the 250F into the 3500. Touring did most of the bodies with Vignale doing some as well. When introduced in 1957 at the Geneva Auto Show, the new 3500 GT was an immediate hit. The design of the 3500 was about elegance, style, and speed.
This 3500 GT has won awards at shows around the country. It has the 5-speed gearbox, original Weber carburetors, Borrani wheels, and has gone through a complete nut and bolt restoration. The engine has been totally rebuilt. It is arguably one of the finest 3500 GT's in existence.
1959 Ford Fairlane 500The 1959 Fords earned a Gold Medal for 'Exceptional Styling' at the Brussels World Fair. They are considered by many to be the most beautifully styled Fords ever built with their long, low bodies, swept-back rear fender lines, flat, sculptured front fenders with dual headlights and exceptionally flat hoods.
The Fairlane 500 Skyliner was so impressive at its 1957 introduction that President Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered an early model. its retractable hardtop - operated by a multitude of motors, relays, screw jacks, springs and pivoting arms - was impressive in itself.
This 1959 Fairlane 500 Skyliner is painted factory-correct Turquoise and Colonial White. The aluminum rear-wheel opening panels and optional stainless steel fender skirts increased the expanse of bright metal trim. It is powered by Ford's 235 horsepower, 332 cubic-inch overhead V8.
Alfa Romeo Volpi MonopostoIn the late 1930s and 40s, Alfa Romeos regularly dueled with Bugattis, Delahayes, Jaguars, Auto Union and Mercedes for automobile racing supremacy. The Volpi Special shown was driven by the legendary race car driver Juan Manual Fangio in the Formula National in Argentina, just after World War II.
Constructed in Argentina in late 1930s by renowned chassis constructor Conrado Volpi using original Alfa components, this car was raced in various formulas, including Libre, National, and Limitada, by several drivers, including Juan Manuel Fangio in the late 1940s and by his friend Alberto Crespo. Crespo won the 1950 National Championship in Fuerza Limitada, and continued to campaign the car until the late 1950s. After the car was retired, it went on display at the Fundacion Museo del Automovilismo Juan Manuel Fangio in Balcarce, Argentina, at the direct request of Fangio. Years later, it was sold to an American collector, and following a full restoration by D.I. George Coachworks, it has made a successful return to vintage racing.
Ford FrontenacThis car was built for Ford Dealer, Barber Warnock of Indiana, by Louis Chevrolet and his brothers based on Ford's Model T chassis.
When Chevrolet's sold their company, they could not use the Chevrolet name so they called their cars Frontenac, which were very successful race cars. In fact, Gaston Chevrolet won the 1920 Indianapolis 500 in the Frontenac.
This example is one of three built for the 1924 Indianapolis 500. #26 was driven by Bill Hunt and finished 14th. #27 was driven by Fred Harder and finished 17th. #28 was driven by Alfred E. Moss (Sterling Moss's father) which finished 16th.
Martin Model 100The Martin, despite vigorous promotion, never went beyond three prototypes. Presented here is the one-of-a-kind Aerodynamic vehicle built by Martin Aircraft Company of Garden City, New York. Martin's concept was to create a four-seater streamlined car along Jaray principles. Notice the pontoon-shaped underbody, fully covered rear wheels, and deep-sloping front with the body tapering toward the rear. The Aerodynamic styling allowed for a top speed of 107 (claimed) miles per hour. It is powered by a 4-cylinder, Continental water-cooled rear engine and has airplane-type suspension, which means no springs. The aluminum body has one door that opens into the back seat.
BMW Alpina B6 GT3Making its debut at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show, this supercharged coupe is intended for the race track and not the show circuit. This BMW Alpina B6 GT3 was created to compete in the FIA GT3 European Championship series. This vehicle is very important as it is Alpina's first FIA GT3 racer in two decades. The car is based on BMW's 6 Series and fitted with a supercharged 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 530PS and 725NM of torque. This power is sent to the 18-inch Michelin wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. 0-100KM/h should take about 3.9 seconds for this lightweight, 1350KG race car. It has a recorded top speed of 285km/h. More details should be released once its official debut at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show.
Ferrari 312 PPossibly the most beautiful sports prototype of all time, Ferrari's 312 P was introduced to mark the firm's return to endurance racing. This 312 P (serial number 0872) is the only one fitted with a Berlinetta body when new. Another was rebodied from the slightly slower Spyder configuration for the 1969 season. It failed to finish at Le Mans in 1969 and 1970, but was fourth overall at the 24 Hours of Daytona in February 1970 and sixth overall at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 1970. Both Berlinettas were later sold to Luigi Chinetti to race with his N.A.R.T. racing team.
NEW RENAULT CLIO : THE NEW BENCHMARKNew Renault Clio stands out as a versatile, balanced package which carries over the same qualities that saw Clio III take the 'Car of the Year ' award in 2006, namely benchmark cabin space, safety, comfort and roadholding, as well as the same rigorous build quality that has made it one of its segment's most reliable models.
Triumph DolomiteThis 1937 Triumpholomite Sedan was imported new to New Zealand during the 1930's. A complete restoration was done from 1982-1985. In May of 2001 it was imported to the United States.
The Triumph Motor Company produced around 1750 four and six cylinder Dolomites from 1937 through 1939. This is one of six believed to still be on the roads, the only six-cylinder model in North America. It is a right-hand drive version featuring the famous 'fencers mask' or 'waterfall' grill. It won the Most Elegant Closed Automobile Award Pre-1940 at a 2002 Concours d'Elegance.
Veritas C-90This Sport Coupe is one of 10 or 15 coupes built by Veritas using pre-war BMW 328 chassis and running gear. The BMW 328 was powered by an overhead-valve in-line 6-cylinder engine with 1,971 cc and 130-horsepower. The chassis consisted of coil-spring suspension, independent in front, rack-and-pinion steering and hydraulic drum brakes. The BMW 328 had a top speed of 125 mph.
Maserati Tipo 61 BirdcageThe Maserati Tipo 60/61 Birdcage is arguably one of the greatest cars of all time. The first Tipo 60's were built for the 1960 World Sports Car Championship. Stirling Moss drove the car to victory in its first race. Although it won its first race, it was unable to capture the season championship.
A larger engine, a 2.9-liter four cylinder that produced 50 extra horsepower, was supplied to later cars which were labeled Tipo 61's. Even with great drivers such as Jim Hall, Briggs Cunningham, Carroll Shelby, Roger Penske, and Dan Gurney, and Masten Gregory the vehicle was unable to produce the big wins.
Veritas BMW Rennsport SpyderVeritas was a small German company formed after the end of World War II by 3 BMW employees who built racing and sports cars based on pre-war BMWs. They built about 75 cars before closing in 1952. The most successful Veritas was the Veritas-BMW Rennsport Spyder. Approximately 22 were built using chassis and the 2-liter 'Hemi' 6-cylinder engines of the late 30s BMW 328. This car is one of approximately 15 that survived, (only 2 or 3 in North America). It is believed to be one of three cars raced by the Belgium team, Ecurie Belge.
In addition to many race wins, in the early 50s one of their cars set a new 2-liter land speed-record of 147 mph. There is some evidence that this car might be that record-setting car. The car was purchased by its current owners in 1979. Since then, it has been restored and used extensively in vintage races and vintage tours.

Continuing the marque's impressive record of bringing concepts to market in their original form, Aston Martin engineers have brought the V12 Vantage to market in an inadmissible 12 months.
A Little UnusualIn the never-ending Endeavour to 'think outside the box', to achieve the ultimate aerodynamic vehicle, or to create something truly unique, the results are sometimes unusual. Here is a quick list of some of those vehicles where 'form' took a back seat to 'function.'
Ferrari 308 GTB/Huffaker IMSA GTUThe Ferrari 308 was not intended for racing, but like so many past road-going Ferraris, it soon found itself at the track. Michelotto of Padova, Ferrari's 'unofficial' race shop, built 11 examples of the Ferrari 308 for use in Group 4 competition. During the 1980s, these 11 cars earned many impressive victories and trophies for their owners. In the United States, an even more extreme version of the 308 was fabricated for the International Motor Sports Association's 'GTU' Class by the Huffaker Engineering Company. In total, there were three specially-prepared Ferrari 308 cars created. The cars were ready for the start of the 1991 season, but - what often happens - by the time of completion, they were already obsolete. Rule changes meant they were ineligible to compete.
Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class Grand EditionThe new CLS Grand Edition special-edition model sees Mercedes-Benz introducing a new highlight to the segment for four-door premium coupés. A matt designo paint finish lends spectacular definition to the lines of the coupé and makes the CLS Grand Edition really catch the eye. This exclusive style is echoed in the interior with high-grade designo leather and high-quality equipment details. All of which makes the multi-design-award-winning Mercedes-Benz Coupé unmistakable.
Coupés are truly special cars. Not least the Mercedes Coupés, which have always epitomised automotive elegance, exclusivity and refinement at the very highest level. With the CLS, Mercedes-Benz paved the way for four-door coupés. The trend-setting model from Stuttgartinspires coupé enthusiasts with its exciting and muscular styling.
Peerless Model 19This is a very, very rare automobile in original, unrestored condition making it a welcomed entrant at any major concours for the 'historic preservation' category. It is one of only two known 1909 Peerless Model 19s, the other has been restored and its whereabouts is currently unknown.
Though this vehicle is in rather poor aesthetic condition, it is drivable. It has its original acetylene generation and tank still residing on the running boards. The engine is treated to the original Peeerless carburetor, an item that is almost as rare as the automobile itself. The coachwork is the Roi des Belges style with seating for seven-passengers on fixed seating and two jump seats.
Phantom Corsair Making Rare Trip Out of Museum for Amelia 2009The 1930s and 1940s belonged to Christian Bohman and Maurice Schwartz; their partnership created some of the most famous and outrageous vehicles of the time. Duesenbergs were a particular favorite for their customizing talents and clients included Clark Gable, Barbara Hutton, and Ethel Mars of Mars candy fame. Possibly their most famous creation was the 'Phantom Corsair,' penned by Rust Heinz, heir to the H. J. Heinz food empire. The Corsair's futuristic, shark-like body was mated to a Cord 810 chassis and later appeared in the David O. Selznick movie 'The Young In Heart' as the mysterious Flying Wombat. The car will be making a rare trip out of the National Automobile Museum (The Harrah Collection) in Reno, Nevada, and it will be on display at the 2009 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.
Listed below are additional examples of craftsmanship by Bohman & Schwartz
2009 Philadelphia International Auto ShowFirst held in 1902, the Philadelphia International Auto Show is no newcomer to the car show business. That said, the relatively small Philly event is not structured in the same way as the largest of international auto shows. Detroit, for instance, features cars and displays supplied directly by the manufacturers, while Philly features a network of local dealers that come in with their cars to produce the show. That local network, called the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia (ADAGP), has been fueling the event since 1997.
The Philly show's reliance on car dealers has consistently limited its size and prevented the event from featuring debuts or brand new concept cars. But calling Philly a second-rate show because of this would be missing the point. At the Philadelphia Auto Show, there are no distracting displays, no scantily clad models, no dramatic lights or ostentatious presentations. There are just cars. What could be better than that for a real car enthusiast?
