The British-based Ensign Company was formed by Morris Nunn. In the early 1970s, the company competed in Formula One and participated in 133 Grand Prix events. Their best finish was 4th place at the 1981 Brazilian Grand Prix by Marc Surer. During their career, they scored 19 championship points. At the close of the 1982 season, Ensign was merged into the Theodore team.
