1973 Pontiac LeMans

The 1973 Pontiac LeMans was available as a 2- and 4-door Hardtop and as a 6- or 9-passenger Station wagon. The wagons were officially called Safaris again. They were the company's A-body intermediate line featuring a V-shaped hood, single head-lamps, and LeMans lettering behind the front wheel opening. They had 'colonnade' style rooflines which added heavier roof pillars to comply with federal rollover standards.

Pontiac no longer offered the LeMans Sport convertible which was replaced with the Series 2AF LeMans Sport Coupe (of which 50,999 examples were produced). The LeMans Sport Coupe included bucket seats and louvered rear quarter window styling.

Popular options included the GT and the GTO packages. The GTO included the 400 cubic-inch four-barrel V8, dual air scoop hood, dual exhaust, floor-mounted three-speed manual gearbox, wide oval tires, rear sway bars, floor-mounted three-speed manual gearbox, baby moon hub caps, and 15 x 7-inch wheel rims. In total, there were 4,806 examples of the LeMans and LeMans Sport colonnade hardtops fitted with the GTO option.

The most expensive LeMans version was the Luxury LeMans, which also featured the colonnade styling. They came equipped with a V8 engine and a higher level of luxury appointments. There were Deluxe wheel-covers, 'Luxury' signatures above the LeMans fender lettering, rear deck beauty panels between the taillights, and vertical blade grilles with vertical chrome division moldings.
