2005 Renault R25

Renault F1 Team R25 Formula One Race Car

2005 Team Champion; 2005 Driver Champion: Fernando Alonso

As Fernando Alonso got behind the wheel of the R25 at the beginning of the 2005 season, he faced a challenge that would alter the sport tremendously; a rule change that dictated that teams must run qualifying laps and the entire race on a single set of tires. But, with Michelin as a partner, this challenge became an advantage. Already known for producing racing tires that both outperform and outlast the competition, Michelin was able to provide tires that exceeded the expectations of Alonso and the entire Renault F1 Team. As a result, Alonso has dominated the 2005 season, not only winning the 2005 Driver Championship, but leaeding the way for his team to win the Team Championship as well.
