2003 Jordan EJ13 news, pictures, and information

Mike Costin and Keith Duckworth are the founders of the Cosworth Engine Company. The origin of the company name was formed from their surnames COStin and DuckWORTH (Cos-worth). The engines they built were very competitive on the racing circuit and their reputation grew, leading to a contract with the Ford Motor Company to design and build engines for their racing program.

Since the formation of their company, the services they offer have grown. They have built a turbocharger for a Formula 1 Ford V6 engine. In 1968 they built a BDA which is used in club racing competition even to this day.

The 3-liter DFV engine debuted in 1967 and won its inaugural race in June of that year. Since that time it was won 154 victories in Grand Prix racing.

Cosworth went on to partnership with UEI, which was later acquired by Carlton Communications. Carlton Communications was sold in 1990 to Vickers PLC. Under the leadership of Chris Woodwack, another World Championship was achieved in 1994.

In 1998 the Cosworth Company was bought by Audi AG, a subsidiary of Volkswagen. The deal also included the famous marque, Rolls Royce Motor Cars. At the close of 1998, the Cosworth Racing program was sold back to Ford Motor Company.

The company is currently building engines for the Jaguar Racing and customer teams.
