La 806 Runabout, inspirée de l'univers nautique, est présentée comme un concept unique ayant pour originalité d'être dédié aux loisirs et positionné haut de gamme.



L'univers du nautisme
Que ce soit le style extérieur ou intérieur, les aménagements ou le choix des matériaux et des coloris, tout contribue à créer une ambiance propre à l'univers du nautisme et nécessite, souvent, le recours aux termes de marine.

Le bois de teck, partout présent à l'intérieur, associé au métal inox, témoigne de la filiation recherchée avec les yachts ou les canots hauts de gamme. Les équipements, pour leur part, font appel à la technologie la plus moderne.



Allure racée et prestations de haut de gamme.
L'impression de grande classe qui se dégage de l'ensemble tient à l'harmonie du style, équilibre entre la ligne générale élancée et le galbe des faces avant et arrière, le tout traité dans une teinte blanc nacré et couronné par une vitre de cockpit au profil pur.

Cette 806 est, bien sûr, animée par la nouvelle motorisation V6 3l de Peugeot associée à une boîte de vitesses automatique à gestion électronique et autoadaptative. Tous les éléments, à l'extérieur comme à l'intérieur, qu'ils soient de simple décor ou fonctionnels, sont le fruit d'une recherche esthétique soucieuse de la pureté des lignes et du standing du véhicule.

Úne baguette en teck orne les flancs effilés. Les jantes de roue, en magnésium, au dessin original, reçoivent des pneus dont les sculptures ont été créées spécialement.

Rompant quelque peu avec la carène en V du runabout traditionnel, la face avant, arrondie et souriante, avec son lion de proue et ses blocs optiques en amande, signe l'appartenance à la Marque ; de même l'arrière intègre, dans son dessin, deux ouvrants avec feux rouges et logo Peugeot. A l'intérieur de l'habitacle, le raffinement est poussé à l'extrême. Ainsi, le plancher, les accoudoirs de panneaux de porte et la planche de bord sont-ils réalisés en teck massif.

Úne note harmonieuse supplémentaire est apportée par l'Alcantara qui habille les sièges et dont le ton bleu est parfaitement assorti à la teinte bleutée des vitrages.

Charme discret de la technologie d'avant-garde
Pour le dessin de la planche de bord, les stylistes ont souhaité réaliser une
synthèse entre la planche d'origine de la 806 et l'univers marin, suggéré, notamment, par un mouvement de vague ou une coque de bateau.

Volant et combiné constituent à eux-seuls de véritables oeuvres d'art. Noyau garni d'Alcantara bleu intégrant l'airbag, branches en teck baguées de chrome aux extrémités, le volant est garni de cordage en coton naturel Quant au combiné, réalisé dans une plaque de verre bleu, transparent comme une ouverture sur le monde de la mer -, son éclairage est assuré par des fibres optiques et des films lectroluminescents.

Pour les équipements, la technologie d'avant-garde assure une présence discrète au service de prestations de haut de gamme. En effet, la console centrale, réalisée en inox, concentre les commandes d'une installation Hi-Fi des plus élaborées et celles de la climatisation. Elle intègre, comme en 806, le sélecteur de vitesses de la boîte automatique. Ún winch est implanté à sa base.

Le chargeur de disques compacts, de conception originale, est escamotable et les amplis à lampes, implantés à la base du pare-brise participent au chauffage de l'air puisé de dégivrage.

Úne clé électronique, aux allures de stylo futuriste, assure les opérations
habituelles de déverrouillage de la colonne de direction, du calculateur du
moteur ainsi que le démarrage. Elle permet, en outre, grâce au ' plip '
infrarouge multi-fonctions qu'elle intègre, de commander à distance, d'une
part, le verrouillage des portes et l'alarme, d'autre part, les manipulations
du pont mobile et du winch qui en facilite le chargement.

At the water's edge
Everything about the 806 calls to mind watersports, be it the body or interior, the fittings, choice of fabric and colour scheme, or even the terms that refer to it. The teak wood/stainless metal combination is indicative of the close affinity with yachts and luxury boats. The most avant-garde technology is used in all the fixtures.
The French Riviera, the Alpine lakes of Northern Italy, Florida and California are all perfect settings for driving the 806 Runabout.

Únrivalled beauty

The 806 Runabout is powered by a 3 litre V6 Peugeot engine with a self-adjusting, electronically-managed automatic gearbox. All the inner and outer features, whether they are functional or purely decorative, are the result of aesthetic research bordering on artistic creation.

A teak runner decorates the streamlined sides. Specially sculpted tyres fit neatly onto original magnesium wheels.

In slight contrast with the V-shaped hull of the traditional runabout, the front is curved and cheerful, featuring the prowling Lion and almond-shaped headlamps; both well-known Peugeot hallmarks. This logo, along with two red lights, is also incorporated into the design of the rear.

The interior of the passenger compartment pushes sophistication to the extreme. The floor, door armrests and dashboard are all in solid teak.

The blue tone of the alcantara seat upholstery adds an additional touch of harmony, matching the blue-tinted windows.

The subtle technological touch

The designers wanted the dashboard design to integrate both the original 806 dashboard design and the boating theme, particularly visible in the use of shapes in the form of waves or the hull of a boat.

The steering wheel and gear-lever are, in their own respect, works of art. The airbag is contained in the middle of the steering wheel, which is decorated with blue alcantara with a teak chrome-ringed lining. The wheel itself has a rope upholstery covering made from natural cord. As for the gear-lever, the marine theme is reflected in the crystal-clear blue veneer, illuminated by optic fibres and electroluminescent wires.

A discrete use of avant-garde technology is found in the luxury equipment features. The central, stainless display features highly sophisticated controls for a Hi-fi system and air conditioning. Like the 806, it also has the gear selector for the automatic gearbox. A winch is included in its base.

The CD player with its original design can be folded away, and the valve amplifier at the base of the windscreen is part of the air heating system.

An electronic key, in the shape of a futuristic pen, takes care of releasing the steering lock, initiates the engine calculator and starts the engine. Its multipurpose, infrared 'plip' is used for the remote-control central locking system, setting the alarm and operating the mobile ramp and winch to facilitate loading.

Driver and passenger airbags add to the safety of the passengers. The storage compartments are tucked away in the teak dashboard and driver's door.

Welcome aboard

If Runabout resembles the 806 for user-friendliness, its distinguishing feature is the modular passenger-storage compartment design.

Two sliding, lock doors with opening windows separates the rear compartment from the passenger compartment. When closed, these doors create a separate closed-off compartment. When open towards the back, they give easy access to the storage compartment.

Two folding seats, complete with seat belts, are tucked behind the front seats and can be pulled out to create two extra places.

When the 806 Runabout is at a halt, the two pivoting seats can be used to alternate the seating arrangement so that four people can sit face to face to relax and chat: this seating arrangement makes the most of the refrigerator in the passenger door.

The ramp moves
The motorised elevation system of the 806 Roundabout solid teak storage compartment transforms adds the option of a mobile ramp.

The lower position offers a classical pick-up arrangement. In the upper position, it exposes the bodywork, freeing up a large boot which can be accessed from the rear or via two panels in the mobile ramp.

The compartment's interior is fitted with fixtures around the nautical theme and the two rear doors feature an original opening system which allows you to unlock either of the sliding doors.

In the sun

The vast storage compartment means that the 806 Roundabout can accomodate all your leisure accessories, such as the Remora, a futuristic jet ski designed by a French design school.

To travel with a partner in the Runabout is to experience the height of driving pleasure.
