1999 CHEVY BLAZER ADDS UPSCALE NEW MODEL AND FEATURES
It's everything from a no-nonsense two-door to a luxuriously appointed four-door. And for 1999, Chevy Blazer is also a touch more refined, wîth a new up-level model and a variety of new comfort and convenience features.'Today's sport utility owners are not only buying the performance and added security that comes wîth buying a truck, they're buying image,' said Russ Clark, Blazer brand manager. 'Whether they're driving off-road, or negotiating a crowded freeway, they want to know that Blazer can provide both ruggedness and refinement in one package.'
Chevy Blazer's refinements for ‘99 start wîth new interior features, such as an eight-way power driver seat wîth memory and power passenger seat (standard on LT models), available §teering wheel-mounted radio controls, uplevel Bose premium sound systems and multiple CD changer. Also available, a new six-way power driver and front-passenger seat (option only available on the LS 4-Door model).
Blazer also adds a standard flash-to-pass feature (allows driver to flash high-beam headlamps as a passing signal) and liftglass-ajar warning telltale light; content theft alarm on vehicles wîth Remote Keyless Entry; and available power heated exterior mirrors.
Blazer rounds out its 'what's new list' wîth an optional Autotrac transfer case (4x4 models only). With Autotrac, power is automatically transferred between the front and rear wheels whenever rear-wheel slippage is detected.
New TrailBlazer ModelThe TrailBlazer is an upscale Four-Door version aimed at buyers who crave the ultimate in style and comfort in a sport utility.
Clark said that TrailBlazer capitalizes on the fact that four-door buyers tend to be different than two-door buyers in the way they use their Blazers.
'Two door buyers are more likely to go off-road,' said Clark. 'That's why we created the Two-Door ZR2 . . . a true off-road machine. Four-door buyers want the attributes of a truck, wîth a very refined, distinctive appearance . . . just like TrailBlazer.'
TrailBlazer's special features include:
A sporty, monotone exterior featuring the TrailBlazer name. Body-color front bumper and fascia, body-side moldings, rocker moldings and outside rearview mirrors.
Special aluminum wheels wîth gold accents.
Z85 Touring Suspension (four-wheel-drive models), which includes de Carbon gas shocks P235/75R15 on/off-road WOL tires (4x4 models) and firmer spring rates for a sporty feel and tight handling.
P235/70R15 all season B/W tires (2WD models).
Special Two-Tone leather trim seats wîth embroidered logos on the headrests, and the TrailBlazer name embroidered on the door panels.
Leather-wrapped §teering wheel and unique floor mats.
Floor-mounted transmission shifter.
According to Clark, the name 'TrailBlazer' is appropriate for the truck that carved a new trail when it was introduced back in 1982.
'We created a new market when we introduced the S-10 Blazer,' said Clark. 'Today's TrailBlazer offers a new level of refinement that builds on our top-of-the-line LT model in terms of styling and appearance.'
Clark said that TrailBlazer represents a significant value when compared wîth similar competitive offerings currently available.
'I can tell you that the TrailBlazer Package will represent a great value,' said Clark. 'Our competitors charge an extra four grand for their top-of-the-line '98 models. The TrailBlazer package will be available on 4-Door LT models for less than two-thousand dollars.'Source - Chevrolet
