A LIMITED-EDITION VERSION TAILORED FOR TRAVEL
The limited edition Grand Modus GEO Collections includes a number of features to enhance occupant comfort. Apart from climate control and a 2x15W radio-CD system (with steering columnmounted fingertip remote control and separate display), the Grand Modus GEO Collections have a comprehensive array of equipment to make life easier during long journeys. This includes cruise control with speed limiter, elliptical headlamps with dedicated cornering lights and foglamps, plus Storage and City Packs, including the following features (depending on market):
o Storage Pack:
- aviation-style drop-down tables on front seat backs: a practical solution for rear-seat passengers to secure various objects (including beakers and cans) during long journeys
- drawers below both front seats, particularly useful for heavy items
- an aeroplane-style overhead locker: easily accessible for the driver, this incorporates two separate opening compartments, to facilitate access for all passengers (80 degrees opening at the front, 60 degrees at the rear). It can hold 2.8 litres at the front and 3.0 litres at the rear and is fitted with an automatic locking system to prevent objects falling out in the event of heavy braking.

o City Pack: electrically folding exterior mirrors and rear parking proximity sensor. These combine with the compact dimensions of Grand Modus to facilitate parking manoeuvrability in built-up areas.

Externally, Renault Grand Modus GEO Collections stands out through its new Taranis wheel trims and extra-tinted rear windows, while GEO badging adorns the tailgate and front wings. The cabin features bespoke two-tone black/light charcoal cloth upholstery and GEO Collections-badged front floor mats. These complement other interior details, such as the leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearlever knob, plus the chrome-trimmed centre console and air vents.
Beneath the bonnet, a choice of four engines:
- Two petrol options: 1.2 16V 75 and TCe 100, with CO2 ratings of 139g/km and 140g/km.
- Two diesels: dCi 70 and dCi 85, with a 114g/km CO2 rating that qualifies for the French stat's €500 eco-bonus subsidy.
All four engines in the Grand Modus GÉO Collections range qualify for the Renault's eco² signature, which enables customers to identify the cleanest, most economical models in the company's range and guarantees the following:
- a CO2 rating of less than 140g/km,
- manufactured in a factory with ISO 14001 certification – this recognizes ongoing progress in the field of reducing the environmental impact of industrial activity.
- recycled plastic will be used for at least 5 per cent of the total plastic content and, at the end of its life, 95% of the vehicle will be recoverable – it is significant that Modus was awarded the Prix Entreprises & Environnement in 2005, in recognition of its dashboard's environmentally sensitive design. It incorporates 4.5kg of recycled plastic, which equates to half the component's
total weight, one of the best figures of its kind in the automotive industry. The Modus dashboard's excellent recyclability hinges on the use of materials like polypropylene, for which there are easily available and reliable recycling processes with ample capacity. During the dashboard design process, Renault and Visteon made an effort to use materials from the same chemical family to simplify their categorisation and eventual reuse. Each part thus carries a list of constituent materials. In total, different elements of the Modus (including the wheel arch shields, engine skid plate and fairings for the rear suspension and spare wheel) contain almost 18kg of recycled plastic, which is 9 per cent of the total plastic content.

In Germany, Renault Grand Modus came fourth in the 2009/2010 classification produced by the German motorists' association Verkehrsclub Deutschland with regard to vehicles' environmental credentials, just behind two hybrids models.

A PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMON VALÚES
The limited-edition Renault Grand Modus GEO Collections symbolizes the realisation of a Renault/GEO alliance that promotes respect for the planet and highlights the two partners' common values: boldness, a taste for adventure and discovery and respect for humankind and nature.

Boosted by the twin options of a practical mini MPV (Modus) or its more generously-proportioned sibling (Grand Modus), the Modus continues to outsell all rivals in France and has strengthened its grip on third place in terms of B-segment MPV sales in western Europe.

2010 Renault Grand Modus GEO CollectionSmall on the outside but spacious within, the Renault Grand Modus mini MPV is particularly well suited to the needs of families who cherish versatility. Its compact, 4.03-metre length means it can be driven – and parked – very easily in towns and cities. The modular rear seating (for three) enables load space to be increased from 305 to 410dm3 (ISO standards), which eases the strain of
long-distance family trips. And finally, a five-star EuroNCAP rating means that Renault Modus is one of the safest cars in its segment.

With equipment levels that mirror its seasoned traveller status, the limited-edition Renault Grand Modus GEO Collections is an open invitation to GEO magazine-style adventures through beautiful landscapes. As an introduction to GEO's world, and to highlight its values and commitments, all Grand Modus GEO Collections buyers will receive three complimentary issues.

Renault Grand Modus GEO Collections will be limited to 4,000 units and is due to go on sale from June 2010 in France, Germany, Austria and Belgium.
