Lotus has chosen the Monterey Motorsports Pre-Reunion as the location to unveil their Lotus Exos Type 125. It is an F1 inspired track car powered by a Cosworth V8 engine and clothed in a carbon fiber body. There are front and rear wings that are reminiscent of the ones found on the 2009 spec F1 cars. There is a shark fin engine cover, carbon pushrod suspension system, carbon ceramic brakes, steering wheel mounted function screen, and a semi-automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. There is also a starter motor.
The Exos Type 125 weighs a mere 650 kg and its 3.5-liter Cosworth GPV8 engine is capable of producing 650 horsepower at 10,300 RPM. The engine car run for as much as 4,500 Km before needing a rebuild.
Lotus plans on building 25 units with pricing in the $1 million USD range.
