1919 Oldsmobile Model T news, pictures, and information

Canopy Truck

The canopy-type body on this Oldsmobile truck could have been used to transport fruits and vegetables from the field and orchard to the farmhouse or to sell to the public.

Oldsmobile commercial vehicle had been produced during the company's early days and were again produced from 1919 to 1924. During these five years, over 16,000 trucks were produced. They were available as a chassis, a chassis and cab, or as a complete truck with express body.

Power comes from a four-cylinder motor coupled to a three-speed transmission. A Torbleson double reduction differential (rear end) ensured top speed did not exceed 23 miles per hour.
