The 1929 Buicks were available in 43 exterior color options. The Series 116 was available as a two- or four-door sedan, a Sport Coupe Roadster, Business Coupe, or a 4-door Touring Sedan. The engine was an overhead valve six-cylinder unit that displaced 239.1 cubic-inches and produced 94 horsepower. They had a three-speed sliding gear transmission and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes.
This two-door Sedan is an original car that has never been restored. It is a right-hand drive export model that was purchased new by Mr. Sichel in Uruguay and has been in the same family's ownership from new. It is one of just 90 in this body style that were exported, it has dual side-mount spares and wire wheels, plus a luggage rack and trunk.
In 2010, this car was offered for sale at the Vintage Motor Cars of Hershey presented by RM Auctions. It was estimated to sell for $15,000 - $25,000 and offered without reserve. As bidding came to a close, the car had been sold for the sum of $12,100, which included buyer's premium.
