1909 McIntyre Model 251 1909 McIntyre Model 251 The McIntyre Company of Auburn, Indiana, produced vehicles from 1909 through 1915. The Company came into being when Kiblinger factory manager W.H. McIntyre bought out the Kiblinger high-wheeler company in 1909. The Kiblinger Company was in the midst of a patent-infringement lawsuit. The McIntyre Company produced a wide range of vehicles, including Autobuggys and light-duty trucks. This vehicle is a Model 251 Truck that is powered by a two-cylinder, horizontally opposed, air-cooled motor. Located beneath the center of the vehicle, the 90 cubic-inch, 20-horsepower engine drives the rear wheels by chain. It has a wheelbase of 86 inches and costs $800 when new. It has a load capacity of 1200 pounds. The vehicle suffered extensive damage in a 1993 fire. The heat was so intense that the valve springs melted. After a very difficult restoration, the car was brought back to its original beauty.
