The Morgan Aero 8 GT was a production race car powered by a 4.4 liter, Heini Mader-prepared BMW V8 engine that produced over 500 horsepower. They were given a six-speed sequential gearbox and weighed just over 1000 kg. The chassis was formed from aluminum and a FIA-certified roll cage. The body design was aerodynamic with enhancements such as a full front splitter and a carbon fiber wing to provide additional down force to the rear end.
The cars were used in the British GT Series and raced at LeMans. They were based on the Morgan 8 production car and homologated by the FIA as an eligible international racing production sports car. It was approved by the ACO for entry in the LeMans 24-hour race.
