2002 Renault R202 news, pictures, and information

Renault's Formula One car for the 2002 season was the R202. Their drivers were Jarno Trulli and Jenson Button.

The R202 vehicle was a special vehicle, as it was Renaults first F1 entry as a team after an absence from the sport of over 15 years. Their engine was a V10 Type RS22 that positioned at an unusual 110 - 120 degree angle which was a much more dramatic tilt than its competition. This setup gave the engine a lower center of gravity and gave the vehicle improvements in handling.

The Renault team finished fourth in the Constructors' Championship with 23 points.

1999 European Grand Prix: The First and Last
When Johnny Herbert signed with the brand new Stewart-Ford Racing team many believed Herbert to have missed out on his opportunity at success in Formula One. However, on the 26th of September Herbert would show he still had some fight within and would actually be the one to earn a very important first for the team. Herbert's Formula One career would go through something of a renaissance af...[Read more...]
2012 Monaco Grand Prix: Preview
Sebastian Vettel 'It's something special to race in Monaco. It's tight and there's no room for error. It's rough and, as it's a street circuit, the road surface is uneven so you get shaken in the car and there is no room for mistakes. You have to push yourself and the car to the limit to be fast. You have to push as hard as on other tracks, but there's no room. You can almost feel it when you are just missing the wall and just get through -- but it's a nice feeling. You need to be fully...[Read more...]
