2009 Scuderia Toro Rosso STR4 news, pictures, and information

The Scuderia Toro Rosso's 2009 Formula One car, the STR4, was similar to the prior cars in that it relied on a design developed by its parent company. It was a Red Bull RB5 with a Ferrari V8 Type 056 engine mated to a 7-speed gearbox and riding on Bridgestone tires. The car made its debut during the testing sessions at Barcelona on March 9th of 2009. The car was driven by Sébastien Bourdais for the first part of the season, until he was replaced by Jaime Alguersuari from the Hungarina Grand Prix onwards. The other team driver was Sebastien Buemi. Buemi scored a 7th placed finish on his debut at the 2009 Australian Grand Prix. Bourdais also scored points during that raced.

The team would finish the season 10th in the World Constructors Championship after earning 8 points.

1962 Monaco Grand Prix: McLaren Carries the Cooper Flag back to the Top
By the beginning of the 1962 Formula One season Jack Brabham had left Cooper to form his own racing team. It seemed the glories days of the double World Championship were well and truly behind them. And in Bruce McLaren, Cooper had a driver and competitor more than apt to help carry the team forward into the future. The first race of the 1962 season, the Grand Prix of the Netherlands, certainly didn't...[Read more...]
