2012 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe news, pictures, and information

Cadillac CTS Coupe is a dramatic, 2+2 sports coupe wîth a design transferred virtually unchanged from the concept vehicle that inspired it. It joined the CTS lineup in 2011, rounding out a range of models and body styles that includes Sedan, Wagon and high-performance V-Series.

Continuous improvements have helped keep the CTS family at the top of customer consideration lists and earn critical praise, including a spot on Car and Driver's 10 Best list, Popular Mechanics' Auto Excellence Awards and Automobile Magazine's All-Star list. That legacy continues in 2012, as the CTS Coupe receives a lighter and more powerful version of the 3.6L V-6 wîth direct injection and continuously variable valve timing, a new version of its distinctive shield-shaped grille, side blind zone alert, new exterior colors and a new Touring Package edition.

From a fuel economy standpoint, the new 3.6L V-6 retains EPA-estimated mileage of 18 city and 27 highway, despite delivering about 5-percent more horsepower – 318 horsepower (237 kW) vs. 304 horsepower (227 kW) in 2011.

CTS Coupe is offered in Base, Performance and Premium Collections, all powered by the 3.6L engine and available in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The new Touring Package edition is available on the Premium collection. Highlights include:
• Nineteen-inch polished aluminum wheels
• Microfiber suede-trimmed §teering wheel rim and shift knob
• Sport alloy pedals
• Sport grille and V-Series center brake light
• Midnight Sapele wood trim package
• Recaro performance seats
• Available microfiber suede seat inserts in Ebony or Light Titanium.
All the new features and revisions for 2012 are shared across the CTS range. Please see separate releases for CTS Wagon and CTS Sedan. Also see the separate release for CTS-V Coupe.

CTS Coupe design
The CTS Coupe has the same wheelbase as the CTS Sedan, but an overall height that is approximately two inches (51 mm) lower and an overall length that is two inches (51 mm) shorter. And while it is based on the same architecture, the CTS Coupe shares only the instrument panel, console, headlamps, front fenders and grille wîth its Sedan sibling. Its distinctive features include:
• Classic hardtop styling, wîth no conventional B-pillar
• Touch-pad operation for the doors removes the need for conventional door handles, creating a technical, clean profile
• A windshield laid at a faster angle (62.3 degrees) and a long, nearly horizontal backglass area combine to create a dramatic profile
• Sculpted lower front fascia wîth unique brake-cooling vents
• Rear fascia wîth mesh lower grilles
• Center-outlet exhaust wîth twin dihedral-shaped tips that pass through the rear fascia
• Signature vertical lighting, highlighted wîth LED light pipes
• Rear spoiler integrated into the signature center high-mounted stop lamp
• Sculpted roof-mounted antenna for OnStar and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
The CTS's distinctive shield-shaped front grille has been redesigned for 2012 wîth new premium finishes that highlight the intricacies of a new frame and mesh combination. The Wreath & Crest logo also has sharper colors and raised ridges between the colors, giving it a three-dimensional quality.
