VAUXHALL BEEFS UP MOVANO RANGE
Vauxhall has added three new factory-built derivatives to its award-winning Movano range wîth the addition of a 17-seater Minibus and 6- and 9-seater Combis.The purpose-built Minibus provides generous accommodation for 17 people wîth optimum access and comfort making it ideal for schools, colleges and care homes. The layout features offset double seats on one side of the aisle wîth adjacent single seats. The last two rows of seats can also be specified wîth optional floor-mounted fixing rails enabling easy removal and freeing additional load area space quickly.
The fully trimmed interior includes overhead coat racks, sliding rear side window and walk-way illumination. The wide-opening sliding side door and standard electrically operated retracting side step ensure easy passenger access and egress.
Additional comfort is provided by individual down-lighting for every seat and the availability of air conditioning and individual and optional aircraft-style ventilation nozzles.
The new Movano Minibus is powered by a Euro 5-compliant 2.3CDTi (125PS) engine, available wîth either manual or Tecshift transmission. (posted on conceptcarz.com) Vauxhall's Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) wîth traction control also comes as standard.
Providing even more luggage space and without compromising passenger carrying capability, the new Movano Combi is available in two variants: L1H1 6-Seater and L2H2 9-Seater. The new Combis will prove useful to a range of buyers including hotels, taxi companies and firms lòòking to move their workforces around.
With its dual front passengers' bench seat, rear bench seat for three passengers and single sliding door on the nearside, the 6-Seater Combi provides comfortable and accessible seating for all six occupants. The 9-Seater Combi is even roomier, featuring a dual front passengers' bench seat plus second and third row rear bench seats.
The 6-Seater Combi is powered by a Euro 5-compliant 2.3 CDTi (100PS) engine. Also meeting Euro 5 requirements are the two 2.3 CDTi powertrains in the 9-Seater Combi range, available wîth power outputs of either 125PS or 150PS wîth ESP as standard.

VAUXHALL MOVANO IS TOP CHOICE FOR BRITISH GAS
• Bespoke Vauxhall Movano platform cabs join British Gas Fleet• Bodywork tailored for improved aerodynamics and fuel consumption
British Gas and Vauxhall have signed a fleet deal for 140 Vauxhall Movano vans. The bespoke platform cab Movano vans join the ÚK's leading energy supplier's 10,500 strong fleet.
British Gas's latest acquisitions are all powered by Vauxhall's frugal 2.3-litre 125ps engine and are specified from factory wîth L3 long wheelbase to accommodate the energy provider's specialised equipment demands. Each vehicle is painted in the Sky Blue of British Gas.
The specialist bodywork was done by Vauxhall-approved converter Trucksmith and features a low-floor polycarbonate Luton body wîth a single three-dimensional air management system above the cabin for improved aerodynamics and fuel consumption. This particular bodystyle, called KneeHi, additionally comes wîth a high-grip rubber coating to make entry and exit into the vehicle easier and safer for British Gas engineers.
Colin Marriott, General Fleet Manager at British Gas Centrica, said, 'We chose the Movano because it's one of the most fuel-efficient and reliable light commercial vehicles around. The environment in which they operate is not only specialised but demanding too, and we needed a vehicle that would carry and accommodate the load without any trouble.
'Of all the other makes and models that we looked at, the Movano best met all of our requirements. We chose the L3 wheel based body style to give sufficient load volume and payload as well as allowing low access. We were also impressed wîth the Movano's interior, which provides plenty of internal storage space for our engineers and is comfortable too.'
Richard Collier, Vauxhall's National Commercial Vehicles Sales Manager, said, 'It is fantastic to see one British brand partner wîth another prominent British brand, and we at Vauxhall are very much lòòking forward to partnering British Gas.'
Ordered on a five-year operating lease to accommodate new business growth, the 140 customised vehicles will be used specifically for the company's growing loft and cavity wall insulation business.
Mr Marriott added, 'While it is still early days, the Trucksmith bodywork has had a positive effect on fuel consumption. For British Gas, which looks after 12 million British homes and one million businesses, choosing the right fleet vehicles is imperative in ensuring a good service to customers.'

MOVANO SET TO CONVERT TRADE AT UK'S NUMBER ONE BUILDING SHOW

Luton – Following the successful launch of the panel van variant earlier this year, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles has expanded its New Movano range to include Core Conversions wîth a variety of lengths and chassis configurations.
Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles will give the Movano Core Conversion range its ÚK premier at Interbuild Onsite, the ÚK's number one exhibition for the building trade, in Birmingham this week. The expanded range of variants includes dropsides, tippers and box vans in addition to the existing chassis versions wîth both single and crew cabs in three lengths.Dropside variants will be available initially in the 3.5 tonne gross vehicle weight category wîth front or rear-wheel drive. The single and crew cab versions come in three lengths (FWD L2 and L3 and RWD L2, L3 and L4). Depending on the variant, the 2.04m wide load floors are available in four lengths that range between 3.2m and 4.45m, wîth payloads up to 2130kg. Standard features include aluminum side and tail boards, cabin protection wîth ladder rack and a resin-coated wooden load floor.
The new Movano can also be ordered as a 3.5 tonne gross vehicle weight tipper in two lengths (L2 and L3 variants), as a chassis or crew cab variant wîth payload up to 1122kg. Standard equipment includes a steel load floor wîth integrated load securing points, cabin protection wîth ladder holders as well as aluminum side and tail board wîth under-run bars. The extensive list of options also includes steel side and tail boards and a rear ladder rack. Both Tipper and Dropside variants feature Scattolini bodies.
The new Movano will also be available as box body which is constructed using stable, lightweight aluminum frames and synthetic panels for a high quality exterior. Two sizes are available wîth 20m3 and 22m3 of load volume that can carry a payload of up to 1935kg depending on variant. Standard equipment includes an anti-skid floor covering and aluminium lashing rails around the interior. Options include wind deflectors and a Luton head. All Core Conversions are based upon the chassis and crew cab chassis models announced earlier this year. These models feature a rugged ladder chassis wîth multiple function points to enable easy and secure installations of bodies by third-party convertors.
The new generation of 2.3 CDTI four-cylinder common-rail diesel engines (100PS, 125PS and 146PS) ensures powerful low-speed torque, lively performance as well as high fuel consumption and low emissions.
All New Movano Core Conversions come wîth a three year manufacturer's warranty that covers both the vehicle chassis as well as the conversion.The Core Conversion range will be available to order from retailers in late November wîth pricing announced at the same time.Source - Vauxhall
