2012 Perodua Viva news, pictures, and information

The Perodua Viva is a compact MPV produced by Malaysian Company, Perodua (Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sendirian Berhad). They are the country's second largest automobile manufacturer after Proton. The company was established in 1992 and introduced their first car, the Perodua Kancil in August 1994.

The Viva was introduced in May of 2007 and originally planned to be the replacement of Perodua's Kancil and the Kelisa. When the vehicle was first launched, it was decided that it was marketed as a Kelisa replacement only, and continued to sell the Kancil.

The Viva is based on the 6th generation Daihatsu Mira and is equipped with Daihatsu DVVT engines. The five-door hatchback is powered by a choice of three inline-three cylinder engines with displacement sizes including the 659cc, 847cc, and 989cc. The wheelbase measures 94.1 inches and has a length of 140.7 inches.

When first introduced, the Viva was offered in 6 model choices. This included the 660EX manual, 850EX manual, 1.0SX Standard manual, 1.0SXi Premium manual, 1.0EZ Standard automatic and the 1.0EZi Premium automatic. Later, the range was updated on the 23rd of July 2009 with the Viva 660BX manual, Viva Elite manual, Viva Elite automatic and the Viva Elite EZi.
