The March 753 saw the return to side radiators with an aerodynamic full-width nose cone. They had a narrow tub and narrow track suspension. To stiffen the rear of the car, a cast beam was added instead of a fabricated unit. Graining was a problem for the 753. By reducing the track width by 2.5 inches, the problem seemed to be resolved. Swede driver Gunnar Nilsson won the BP British Championship from Brazil's Alex Ribeiro, both in works-run 753. This hard-fought battle lasted the entire season. Conny Andersson, Stephen south, Ingo Hoffman, and Luciano Pavesi also had successful races in F3.
In total, there were 22 examples of the March 753 F3 car produced.
