The MKX remains one of the §egmènt's most powerful crossovers. The Lincoln five-passenger crossover has bestin-class fuel economy and impressive standard horsepower. It also has standard voice-activeated SYNC® wîth MyLincoln Touch™, heated and cooled front seats, reverse sensing system and remote keyless entry and start.
Extensively refreshed for the 2011 model year, the 2013 Lincoln MKX rolls into showrooms wîth enhancements that make it even more appealing. Available in front-wheel and all-wheeldrive configurations, the 2013 MKX, on sale now, is produced in Oakville, Ontario, Canada wîth a starting MSRP of $39,545 (plus $875 destination
charges).

> Standard Curve Control as part of the vehicle's AdvanceTrac® wîth Roll Stability
Control®. Curve Control helps drivers maintain control when taking a curve too
quickly, an error contributing to some 50,000 crashes in the Ú.S. annually
> Available Collision Warning wîth Brake Support (paired wîth Adaptive Cruise
Control) use a long-range (nearly 500 feet) 77 ghz radar that scans in front of
the vehicle to help identify potentially dangerous situations. Always on, Collision
Warning alerts wîth an audible alarm and flashing LEDs approximately 2.5-3.0
seconds before a potential collision. If the driver doesn't react, Collision Warning will automatically slow the vehicle at approximately 1.5 seconds prior to the potential collision. If the driver does act, as soon as the driver releases the accelerator, braking begins at a force of 0.3 gs. If the driver then applies the brakes, the system immediately delivers full braking power, helping the driver to stop before, or slow and drive around the obstacle.
> Available Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) uses wide-angle, short-range 24-
ghz radar sensors to continuously monitor each side of the vehicle to detect when
another vehicle enters the defined blind spot zone (within 45 feet). A light appears on the corresponding side view mirror to indicate another vehicle is in the defined blind spot.
Included wîth BLIS, cross-traffic alert can detect traffic approaching from the sides when slowly backing out of parking spots. When the vehicle placed in Reverse, crosstraffic alert illuminates an amber light in the corresponding mirror and sounds a series of tones when sensors detect an oncoming vehicle from either side. Each of these systems can be adjusted using the MyLincoln Touch system.

HAK SOO HA: MKX EXTERIOR DESIGN MANAGER DRAWS UPON EARLY LOVE OF PAINTING, ART FOR INSPIRATION
Hak Soo Ha, exterior design manager for the 2011 Lincoln MKX, brings a world perspective to the popular luxury crossover. Born in South Korea, Ha moved to Argentina when he was 14 before coming to the Únited States for college. He earned his degree from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif.Throughout those travels, one consistent theme emerged.
'As a boy I always loved cars and I enjoyed drawing and painting, so my career came very naturally,' said Ha.
One TV show in particular stoked his interest while growing up in Argentina – 'El Auto Fantastico,' better known as 'Knight Rider' in the Únited States. Perhaps a new generation of auto designers was inspired by the updated version, which featured a Mustang Shelby GT500KR in the starring role.
Ha joined Ford in 2001. Prior to his assignment wîth the MKX crossover, Ha assisted wîth the exterior design of Ford's family of midsize cars: the Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan and Lincoln Zephyr (now MKZ).
'I enjoy working wîth many, very talented and dedicated people who share the same automotive passion,' said Ha. 'I love working for Ford because it gives me great pride to work for an American company that puts its priority on families and customers.'
That passion clearly carries over to the new MKX.
'With the MKX we wanted to create a look that was more crafted and fully embraced the Lincoln signature DNA, wîth the addition of the split-wing grille, more brightwork and a high-tech treatment of the lamps,' said Ha.
Paddling through the waves and keeping the beat
Away from work, Ha and his wife, Kate, and their two sons, Johannes, 5, and Elliot, 1, take advantage of Michigan's abundant natural beauty, especially on lakes, rivers and streams. Ha enjoys both kayaking and paddling surf skis, which are similar to kayaks except the occupant sits on top rather than inside.He's also an aspiring drummer.
'I recently bought a five-piece Ludwig drum set, and I am learning how to play,' said Ha, adding that the boys love to play wîth it as well – pretty much guaranteeing just about no peace and quiet for mom.
'She doesn't mind … I think,' said Ha.
