Lancer ES: Less is More

2014 Mitsubishi LancerDefying its low price, the entry-level 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer ES comes equipped with a long list of welcome features in its comprehensive standard equipment package.

Among the attractively-styled Lancer ES no-cost items are a new audio system; new upgraded seating surface fabric; remote keyless entry; auto-off halogen headlights; air conditioning; power door locks and Windows with driver-side auto down; anti-theft engine immobilizer; fuel-saving Electric Power Steering (EPS); and stylized exterior details including side air dams, chrome grille surround and clear and black taillights.

Producing 148 horsepower, the 2.0-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine gets the job done succinctly and quite efficiently – the Lancer ES model equipped with the available high-tech continuously-variable transmission (CVT) gets an EPA-rated 34 mpg out on the highway. Credit Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) variable valve-timing system for the robust power output and fuel efficiency from this powerplant. The MIVEC system also helps to greatly reduce harmful tailpipe emissions.

Along with the aforementioned CVT transmission, the 2014 Lancer ES is also available with a smooth-shifting 5-speed manual transmission. (posted on conceptcarz.com)

Lancer SE AWC - An Exceptional Sport Sedan Value Featuring All-Wheel Control (AWC)

Next up on the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer menu is the SE AWC model with its excellent handling and tractability thanks to free-of-charge inclusion of the Japanese auto manufacturer's dynamic All-Wheel Control (AWC) all-wheel drive system.
Building upon the plentiful standard equipment featured on the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer ES model, the Lancer SE AWC adds such niceties as heated side view mirrors; heated front seats; unique black and beige trim seating fabric; chrome upper/lower grille surround; and a handsome set of 16-in. alloy wheels.

A rearview camera; 16-in. 5-spoke alloy wheels; upgrade seating surface fabric; and a 6.1-in touchscreen display audio system with HD Radio® and a 3-month pre-paid subscription to SIRIÚSXM® satellite radio are new included features on the 2014 Lancer SE AWC.

Gaining nearly a half a liter of displacement over its Lancer ES sibling, the 2014 Lancer SE AWC sports a more potent 2.4-liter normally-aspirated 4-cylinder engine under its hood that is partnered exclusively with the highly-efficient Mitsubishi Motors continuously-variable transmission (CVT) with INVEC-III (Intelligent & Innovative Vehicle Electronic Control system) that 'learns' a driver's particular driving manner to better execute shift performance. This powerplant's horsepower output is a welcome 168 bhp.

Lancer GT Mixes Sport and Luxury

2014 Mitsubishi Lancer
Combining value-packed features as well as sporting performance, the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer GT model teams up the 168 bhp 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine from the Lancer SE AWC with the company's automotive enthusiast-oriented 5-speed manual. A continuously-variable transmission (CVT) outfitted with INVECS-III and Sportronic® shifting that is accomplished through steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters is also available.

Visually, the 2014 Lancer GT separates itself from the previously mentioned Lancer ES and all-wheel-drive Lancer SE AWC models with its aggressive-looking front clip sourced from the top-of-the-line Lancer Ralliart edition.

Other included amenities on the 2014 Lancer GT are automatic climate control; sport-tuned suspension; 18-in. alloy wheels; FÚSE Hands-Free Link System® with ÚSB port; and Mitsubishi Motors' FAST-key entry and start system with panic feature. New no-cost features for the 2014 model year include a gloss black interior decoration panel; a 6.1-in. touchscreen display audio system with HD Radio® and a 3-month pre-paid subscription to SIRIÚSXM® satellite radio; new seats and seating surface fabric; and a very convenient rearview camera.

A new option for the 2014 Lancer GT is a 7-in. MMCS navigation and audio system with high-definition touch panel, voice command, 3D mapping, point-of-interest information, real-time traffic and Mapcare® with two map updates.

2014 Lancer Ralliart: All-Out Performance

2014 Mitsubishi Lancer
Sitting atop the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer model pyramid is the boldly-styled, hot-handling and lightning-quick Lancer Ralliart edition.

With its brawny 2.0-liter turbocharged and intercooled MIVEC-equipped 4-cylinder engine that pumps out a vicious 237 horsepower mated to an ultra-fast-shifting 6-speed automated manual Twin-Clutch Sportronic® Shift Transmission (TC-SST), the 2014 Lancer Ralliart is the 4-door answer for every automobile enthusiast who dreams of owning a high-performance sports car but requires the additional roominess and convenience of a sedan. Full-time All-Wheel Control (AWC) with Active Center Differential (ACD), along with a front helical limited-slip differential, a rear limited-slip differential and Hill Start Assist (HSA) are welcome driver aids that provide both increased agility and traction.

New included items for the 2014 model year Lancer Ralliart are the rearview camera; gloss black interior decoration panel; and the 6.1-in. touchscreen display audio system with HD Radio® and SIRIÚSXM® satellite radio with 3-month pre-paid subscription.

Other standard features include sport fabric seating surfaces, an aluminum hood with heat extractor vent and chrome side lower door molding.

Rockford Fosgate® Premium Audio System – A 'Sound' Decision

A new option that is available on the 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer SE AWC, GT and Ralliart models is an exquisite 9 speaker 710-watt Rockford Fosgate® premium sound system that includes a 10-in. dual-voice coil subwoofer with Punch Control®. The latest in audio technology is highlighted in this system including DTS® Neural Surround, Dolby® Volume and PremiDIA-WIDE surround.
