1958 Plymouth Sport Suburban

For 1958, Plymouth offered no fewer than four different models of Suburban station wagons, the rarest of which was the well-equipped Sport Model. 10,785 examples were built of the six-passenger wagon and 12,385 of the 9-passenger version. The base engine was an L-head, 230.2 cubic-inch six-cylinder engine rated at 132 horsepower. The top engine offering was the 'Golden Commando' engine, a $324 option, which displaced 350 cubic-inches and offered just over 300 horsepower.

The 1958 Plymouth Sport Suburban was similar in style and design as their 1957 counterpart, but with subtle changes like an under-bumper grille and a 'V' in the grille center. The rear vision mirror mounted on the dash top moved off-center towards the driver's side.

Pricing began at $2,720 for the six-passenger version and $2,860 for the 9-passenger version.
