1910 Speedwell Series 10

1910 Speedwell Series 10 1910 Speedwell Series 10 1910 Speedwell Series 10 The Speedwell Motor Car Company, an early American automobile manufacturer established by Pierce Davies Schenck, built cars from 1907 to 1914 in Dayton, Ohio. Interestingly, in 1911, Speedwell built a closed, two-door car that they named a Sedan, which was the first recorded use of the name. Just over 4,000 Speedwells were ever built, but only 12 are known to exist today, and this is the only limousine. This car was discovered in 1960 in a basement garage in the Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. It was purchased by Ed Silvera in 1964, and he carefully preserved and then fully restored it in 1994. Two years later the car was shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and placed Second in Class.
