The Lada Vaz-2101, also known as the 'Zhiguli' and 'Kopeyka,' was a compact sedan introduced in 1970 and built through 1988. Between 1970 and 1982, they were virtually unaltered. They were produced by AvtoVaz and were a re-engineered version of the Fiat 124. These 'no-frills' budget cars proved popular, with sales reaching one million units on December 21, 1973.
