2016 Ferrari FF news, pictures, specifications, and information

FF is short for the Ferrari Four. Four seats. Four-wheel drive.

The FF is up for the task – perhaps one could say it yearns for it – because it is the most versatile automobile ever created through the imaginations and calculations of the entire Prancing Horse team of technicians and designers, engineers and mechanics.

The FF throws down an unbeatable gauntlet to every GT sports automobile concept out there, raising the bar far beyond the other challengers. Your first glance over the FF's refined Pininfarina-designed profile telegraphs that fact. Get behind the wheel – on any road surface, whatever the weather – to discover why it's so revolutionary. The FF is much more than an elegant package of sophisticated beauty—it performs too. It is specifically designed to revel in tackling tough driving challenges, ones set by the most discerning drivers in the world.

DRIVERS THAT DEMAND THEIR CARS GIVE OF THEIR ALL. EFFORTLESSLY.Inspiring the FF's name, the four cocooning, yet supportive seats and Ferrari's innovative new four-wheel drive system are the two main attributes that separate this automobile from the rest of the Prancing Horse stable. Power is still supplied mainly to the rear wheels – certainly a relief to purists – while the front wheels receive torque only when required, delicately doled out by an intelligent control system that oversees the balance between all four wheels. As the most powerful four-seater in the world, the FF is suitably exclusive, available only to a select few who desire the apex of performance in this class. It lacks for nothing: Its power is exceptional, revealing its Prancing Horse roots in every revolution of its engine, delivering a benchmark-pushing driving experience on any surface, be it asphalt, snow, ice or gravel. The FF's rear-mounted electronic differential – or E-Diff – is the first in the world to ever be mounted on V12-powered four-wheel drive.

The patented Ferrari four-wheel drive system is engineered to mesh perfectly wîth the latest version of F1-Trac traction control, technology enhanced by Ferrari's racing experience. Other firsts for the FF include the seven-speed dual-clutch F1 gearbox, the first to be mated to V12. It offers up 20 percent more power while improving fuel economy by 25 percent, a remarkable accomplishment. The interior of the FF holds four people in exceptional luxury, the contoured seats delivering support and comfort in equal measure, while the cabin and luggage space is extraordinary and unmatched in its class. All this space and comfort comes wîth no compromise on performance: The FF delivers all the dynamics of a Ferrari sports automobile. The V12 engine, together wîth the powerful brakes and an optimized suspension, has been masterfully engineered into the unique chassis. The FF's power-to-weight ratio is astonishing, made possible by the revolutionary four-wheel drive system that is only 50 percent of the weight of traditionally engineered four-wheel drive solutions.

A DREAM CAR

The FF's style is powerful yet exquisite, designed to slip through the air wîth its sculpted lines. The traditional 'shooting brake' shape has been refracted through the lens of Pininfarina, bringing in modern styling and cutting edge aerodynamic performance. There are several attributes entirely unique to the FF: For example, distinctive exterior colors were created and the interior leather is enhanced through a proprietary process that highlights its natural beauty. The FF is tailored for an owner who seeks to reflect their unique style in the finish and lines of an exceptional automobile. Whether it is driven day-to-day or reserved for occasional outings, the FF is a four-seater automobile that can be used for either elegant touring or redline-pushing performance. It is like every Ferrari—a dream automobile that revels in being driven.
