The Hong Guang S1 has adopted a new design language that is characterized by flowing bodylines and bold rear styling, along with abundant chrome accents, to stay in tune with modern consumers' aesthetic preferences. Its wing-shaped exterior and interior were inspired by the Wuling brand's logo, adding to the Hong Guang S1's stylish and refined appearance.The interior has a wraparound design, with piano lacquer and chrome accents on the center console. Its dynamic double-barrel dashboard includes the acclaimed crystal clock from the Hong Guang S MPV, for a premium driving experience.Spacious InteriorThe Hong Guang S1 is 100 mm longer and 40 mm wider than the Hong Guang S, measuring 4,500 mm in length, 1,721 mm in width and 1,730 mm in height. In addition, its wheelbase has been extended 10 mm to 2,720 mm.This gives the Hong Guang S1 a roomy interior for all occupants and their belongings. It has 250 liters of space while carrying seven people. Its 4/6 split third-row seats, a hallmark of the Hong Guang family, increase cargo capacity to 3,450 liters when carrying two people.Powerful Engine and Effortless Handling
The Hong Guang S1 is powered by a sophisticated 1.5L P-TEC DVVT engine that generates 82 kW of power and 147 Nm of torque. The MPV's comprehensively optimized driveline system not only ensures power required for daily driving, but also helps deliver fuel economy of 6.6 liters/100 km. A dual mass flywheel, which is usually used in high-end passenger cars, connects the engine and transmission for smoother gear shifting and decreased vibration.
The larger 8-inch multimedia display in the Hong Guang S1 has a simple, clear and smooth user interface that is similar to Win8 OS. Functions such as Bluetooth phone, GPS navigation, HDMI phone connectivity and a ÚSB audio player are offered. Additional user-friendly features include dual-zone independent climate control and third-row ÚSB charging ports.Dual air bags, ultra-high-strength thermoformed steel panels and four-point reverse radar protect the safety of occupants.The Hong Guang S1 will be sold at 2,800 Wuling and Baojun dealers nationwide after its launch. These facilities cover over 90 percent of Chinese cities. It will increase the number of choices for SAIC-GM-Wuling's customers.
