National Star Celebrates 50 Th Anniversary At Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials

CIRENCESTER – Mitsubishi Motors in the UK is helping National Star bring its 50^th anniversary celebrations to an exciting conclusion by naming one of the cross country fences at the iconic Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials (2-6 May 2018) after the long-established charity.

The National Star Trakehner is the 21^st fence at this year's event and with its demanding jump over a sizeable ditch, it is expected to generate a great deal of coverage for the charity as a result of it being a firm favourite with photographers.

In addition, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK is once again donating the use of the lakeside hospitality pavilion to National Star on the Friday of the event for the charity to host guests and assist with its fundraising efforts.

Cheltenham-based National Star works with young adults with severe disabilities and their families to provide support, training and support to help them lead independent and fulfilling lives. The charity has worked with thousands of young people since it was founded in 1967 and today up to 300 students can be enrolled at any given time under the care and tutelage of its specialist staff.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has supported National Star for over seven years and has helped to raise more than £100,000 for the charity. It has also previously provided vehicles to help with the college's work and recently donated its Gloucester Rugby match day rights to National Star – including replacing the Mitsubishi Motors logo on the team's rugby shirts with that of the charity. By donating the fence and the hospitality pavilion, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK reinforces its commitment to National Star and helps to develop the charity's profile.

The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials is the world's premier 3-Day-Event and attracts over 160,000 visitors each year, making it one of the top 10 sporting occasions in the UK. The world's best riders flock to Badminton Park to tackle the legendary cross country course, which is televised on BBC2 on Sunday 6^th May.

Lance Bradley, Vice Chairman, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, is also a National Star 50^th Anniversary Ambassador.
