1905 Oldsmobile Model N

Oldsmobile introduced the so-called 'French front' model in 1904. Innovative features included a steering wheel which replaced the tiller which had been used on the Curved Dash. Powering the Model N was a 7-horsepower engine, which was an improvement over the 4.5 horsepower version.

For 1905, the Touring Runabout was similar to the prior year's model. The 2-passenger Touring Runabout sold for $750 and 518 examples were reportedly produced. They had a louvered hood, with a top access door. Located within the hood was the fuel, water and a battery. Standard equipment included a steering wheel on a brass column, a one-cylinder engine under the body, two-speed and reverse planetary transmission, brass plated side lamps, single chain drive, a 76-inch wheelbase platform, and 28x3 inch tires and tools. Buyers had the option of either red or dark green body colors.
