2017 Porsche Cayenne news, pictures, specifications, and information
Now in its 15th year of production, the 2017 Porsche Cayenne line-up includes the standard Cayenne, the first plug-in SÚV, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid, the twin-turbocharged V6 Cayenne S and GTS, and twin-turbocharged V8 Cayenne Turbo and Cayenne Turbo S.

Like all Porsche vehicles, the Cayenne model range has been individually calibrated to provide the most Porsche-like experience in its class. That means putting an emphasis on straight-line performance and handling, while simultaneously providing a 7700 pound towing capacity (excluding Cayenne S E-Hybrid), class-leading five-seat interior, and a high degree of customization opportunities.

Standard on all Porsche Cayenne models, Porsche Traction Management, ensure your Porsche experience doesn't stop when the weather turns cold, or the road gives way to dirt.

The Cayenne exudes enthusiasm. Any time, any place.

This is ensured by its 3.6-liter V6 engine, which generates no less than 300 hp at 6,300 rpm. Thanks to direct fuel injection (DFI), continuously variable valve timing on both inlet and exhaust and 8-speed Tiptronic S as standard, it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds.

Vital Stats
Engine : 3.6 L., 6-cylinder
Power: 440 hp
Torque: 442 ft-lbs

Engine : 4.8 L., 8-cylinder
Power: 570 hp
Torque: 590 ft-lbs

8-speed Automatic
For a high power output wîth comparably low fuel consumption, the car features a variable resonance intake manifold. Efficiency is enhanced as standard wîth the Auto Start Stop function.

Acceleration, traction and ride comfort are all improved by Porsche Traction Management (PTM) and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). The steel-spring suspension also meets high standards when it comes to performance, driving pleasure and off-road capability.

8-speed Tiptronic S

Thanks to a particularly wide ratio spread, the 8-speed Tiptronic S lowers fuel consumption – and increases comfort and dynamic agility. The low engine speeds in the higher gears reduce the noise level inside the vehicle. The 8-speed Tiptronic S shifts gear automatically and adapts to your individual driving style.

New features include the extended auto start/stop function. This cuts the engine not only when the vehicle stops, but also if you are approaching traffic lights, for example.

Porsche Traction Management (PTM)
PTM comprises of an active all-wheel drive system wîth an electronically variable, map-controlled multi-plate clutch, automatic brake differential (ABD) and anti-slip regulation (ASR).

The electronically controlled multi-plate clutch helps to ensure optimum distribution of force between the permanently driven rear axle and the front axle. The driving conditions are continuously monitored to enable the system to respond to a variety of situations. During cornering, the required level of engine torque is distributed to the front wheels to provide excellent lateral stability. The result: perfect distribution of drive torque at all times.

Idea Cayenne
We start families. We build houses. We climb mountains. We've hardly achieved one goal and the next one is already waiting for us. Can't we just stop for a moment?

No, we can't. Neither do we want to. After all, for us something is only good enough when we've made it even better. Why? Because we are enthusiasts. Because we enjoy accelerating from a standing start – and creating moments full of exhilaration from everyday life.

What does this have to do wîth cars? Nothing. But it has everything to do wîth sports cars. You cannot build a sports car without enthusiasm. Neither can you drive one.

What we want to do more than anything else is drive. With plenty of passion. A vehicle that handles the daily commute as supremely as it does the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca, and one that enjoys the short sprint as much as the long distance. One that is designed for the whole family – and yet for us alone. And one that is one thing above all else: a Porsche.

Dynamic performance, five doors, variability, comfort. The Cayenne continues on its path of success. With a new design, new driver assistance systems, new drive components and a higher output, yet comparatively low fuel consumption. Having reinvented itself, the Cayenne continues to forge ahead. Straight into the future.

It's actually all about that one moment when you turn the key in the ignition. And what that triggers in you.

The new Cayenne. Enthusiast driven.

Exterior design
The prowess of the new Cayenne is clearly reflected in the design: the front and rear sections have been completely revised. They are now sharper and even more sophisticated. The new hood, new front fenders, new main headlights and modified air intakes lend the car even greater presence. It is more athletic and muscular than ever before.

The precisely contoured sides make it clear that this is a sports car wîth character and stature. The new exterior mirrors wîth integrated indicators and wheels in a range of sizes up to 21 inches – wîth new attractive styling – serve to emphasize the car's dynamics. An impression that is confirmed by a number of other new details including the standard daytime running lights featuring four integral LED daytime running lights, as well as the new LED taillights and integrated tailpipes.

Every detail has been used to highlight what matters most to you: the sporting credibility that only a Porsche can offer. That is our design DNA. The result is clear: distinctive appeal. The Cayenne gives the term enthusiasm a face.

Interior design
When you take to the wheel of a Porsche, you are not just a driver. You are part of something bigger. Part of an overall concept. An idea. One that has its roots in motor racing. This is where we learned how important it is to bring the car and driver together as closely as possible. That's why the interior of the Cayenne is virtually built around you. Everything you need is within easy reach. Practical and exclusively designed to suit your needs.

A typical sports car feature, the rising center console reduces the distance between the §teering wheel and the most important vehicle controls. The new multifunction sports §teering wheel also speaks the language of motorsport. Derived from the 918 Spyder super sports car , it is a harmonious blend of high-level ergonomics and pioneering styling.

However, the Cayenne concept goes beyond pure sports performance. It also offers comfort, variability and style. Every individual detail serves to enhance the overall impression. This is our proven design concept. Giving you scope for great emotions.

Character
Inside and out, this vehicle exudes one thing above all else: enthusiasm. For life, and for the road.

The front is the perfect expression of dynamic character. This is clearly reflected in the completely revised hood and sporty contoured fenders. Also new is the sharper design of the Bi-Xenon™ headlights wîth integrated daytime running lights featuring four LED spotlights, which are fitted as standard.

The new Cayenne comes wîth 18-inch Cayenne wheels in multispoke design, which enable you to give free rein to the vehicle's athletic prowess. When it comes to decelerating, the braking system offers impressive performance, even when fully laden and wîth a braked trailer load of up to 7716 lbs.

Inside, too, there's no shortage of enthusiasm, in both the look and feel of the interior. The rising center console and the multifunction sports §teering wheel also emphasize the car's sporting heritage.

Comfort levels can be enhanced still further wîth a range of optional driver assistance systems. These include adaptive cruise control (ACC) wîth Porsche Active Safe (PAS), Lane Change Assist, Lane Departure Warning and ParkAssist wîth reversing camera or Surround View.
