2017 Ford Transit Connect

Today's businesses need a vehicle that works as hard as they do, and Ford Transit Connect Passenger Wagon is just the one for the job. A veritable people-mover and cargo-hauler, the 2017 Transit Connect Passenger Wagon is efficient, flexible, uniquely styled and fun to drive – whether you're on the job or just on the go.

Three series trim levels – XL, XLT and Titanium – come with dual sliding side doors, a maximum payload of 1,270 pounds, and more than 100 cubic feet of cargo space with rear seats folded on the long-wheelbase version. The vehicle can accommodate five, six or seven people – depending on trim level and whether it sits on a short or long wheelbase.

Úpdates for the 2017 Transit Connect Passenger Wagon include a standard reverse sensing system. A new short-wheelbase Titanium trim series debuts. SYNC® 3 with navigation and 6.5-inch touch screen is standard for Titanium and an option for the XLT trim level; new premium packages are available for both series. Roof rails are standard for Titanium and XLT, and available for the XL trim level; roof rack with crossbars is available across all series.

2017 Ford Transit ConnectStandard for Transit Connect Passenger Wagon XLT are six-way power driver's seat, SYNC, rearview camera, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlamps and carpeted floor mats for the rear. The XL series gets a standard four-spoke steering wheel with satin chrome shell, cruise control and rear window defroster.

Various safety features, plus an overall five-star crash safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration add to Transit Connect Passenger Wagon's appeal.

The 2.5-liter i-VCT I-4 engine, standard across all models, returns up to an EPA-estimated 27 mpg highway (actual mileage varies). The gasoline engine is paired with a six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission, designed for smooth around-town driving and low-rpm, open-road cruising. And cruise it can – Transit Connect Passenger Wagon has undergone testing equivalent to more than 3 million miles of customer use.

A best-in-class 36.1-foot turning diameter makes the vehicle easy to maneuver in tight areas. And there's ample interior space for passengers and cargo alike. The short-wheelbase, five-passenger wagon has 120.7 cubic feet of passenger volume, and 77.1 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the first row with second-row seats folded (second-row seats can be flipped or removed altogether); there is 46.9 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row.

With a long wheelbase, customers get seating for up to seven, with second- and third-row seats that can be folded flat. The long-wheelbase version offers 166 cubic feet of passenger volume, 104.2 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the first row (with second-row seats folded) and 58.9 cubic feet behind the second row. Behind the third row, there is another 19.8 cubic feet with the seat moved completely forward, or 15.7 cubic feet with it moved completely back.

The passenger wagon's interior roominess is especially notable for its headroom. Available headroom in the first row is 46.9 inches, with 45.1 inches in the second row. The long-wheelbase version features 41.3 inches of headroom in the third row.

Transit Connect Passenger Wagon's panoramic fixed-glass Vista Roof® – available on XLT and Titanium trim levels – acts as a skylight that lets in natural light. It includes a power shade. An available rearview camera* with guidelines helps give the driver an extra level of reassurance. Standard reverse sensing and available forward sensing systems* alert the driver with beeps escalating in frequency the closer an object is.

2017 Ford Transit Connect
Last but not least, industry-first Ford MyKey® is available. The programmable ignition key lets owners and fleet administrators preset warnings and restrictions on vehicle speed, as well as limit the entertainment system's audio to 45 percent of maximum volume.

All told, the 2017 Ford Transit Connect Passenger Wagon has the unique styling, flexibility and fun-to-drive factor to meet the needs of its customers – both at home and on the job.

*Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle.
