Renault Sport was named evo magazine's 'Company of the past 20 years' at a ceremony in London this evening that celebrated evo's 20th anniversary. Renault Sport's Engineering Director, Thierry Landreau, collected the award that honours the very best sportscars that evo has tested since its first issue.

Praised for always challenging itself and responding to feedback like no other manufacturer, many of evo's favourite hot hatches have been built by Renault Sport. These include Clio V6, Clio 172 Cup, Clio 182 Trophy, Clio 200 Cup, Mégane R26.R (coming fifth in the magazine's Best Car Ever test) and the Mégane 275 Trophy-R.

The past 20 years have been extremely successful for Renault Sport, too, becoming a three-time holder of the Nürburgring Nordschleife front-wheel-drive lap record with Mégane R26.R, Mégane 265 Trophy and Mégane 275 Trophy-R, respectively. Technical innovations including PerfoHub independent steering axis, which was a first on a road car with Mégane R.S. in 2003, R.S. Monitor telemetry in 2009 and 4Control four-wheel-steer on All-New Mégane R.S. in 2018 have all contributed to the success of Renault Sport since the inception of evo magazine in 1998.

Stuart Gallagher, Editor of evo magazine, said: 'What makes Renault Sport a standout company for evo is how it responds to new rivals and feedback from evo and its readers. Where others would consider throwing in the towel, Renault Sport accepts every challenge.'

Patrice Ratti, Managing Director of Renault Sport, said: 'Like evo, Renault Sport has grown a lot in the last twenty years. Back in 1998, the Clio V6 was unveiled to the public at Paris Motor Show. Now, Renault Sport builds R.S. versions of Mégane and Clio plus GT versions of Mégane and Twingo, as well as race versions and single seaters in several successful formulae across the world. We know evo readers are true car fans who appreciate the thrill of driving and as such we value the magazine's opinions greatly. We'd like to thank evo magazine for this fantastic award and we hope to continue challenging the hot hatch segment for the next twenty years and beyond.'

The newest incarnation from Renault Sport, All-New Mégane R.S. offers a whole host of innovative Renault Sport technology including hatchback world firsts such as 4Control four-wheel-steer, R.S. Monitor Expert telemetry with augmented reality videos and shock absorbers with hydraulic bump stops all round, as standard.

All-New Mégane R.S. provides two chassis combining efficiency, agility, stability plus comfort, and offers customers the option of either a Sport or Cup chassis. The Cup chassis receives revised springs, dampers, anti-roll bars and bump stops and is 10 per cent stiffer than the Sport chassis.

Continuing the tradition of every Mégane R.S. since 2003, All-New Mégane R.S. is fitted with the PerfoHub independent steering-axis front suspension, epitomising Renault Sport's expertise in chassis and suspension systems.

Elsewhere, All-New Mégane R.S. gains the option of either a six-speed EDC automatic transmission or the widely-acclaimed six-speed manual. A brand new 1.8-litre engine has been developed, producing 280hp – the most powerful 1.8-litre engine available on the UK market today. Further technologies include the R.S. Vision full LED lighting system which combines four lights into one housing shaped into the Renault Sport chequered flag motif.

All-New Mégane R.S. is available to order now, priced from £27,495 on-the-road.
